Goblins and Gnomes - Goin' commando by Dominant Male and Murloc The Idea: Goblin and Gnomish commandoes battle it out in Stranglethorn Vale in a fast paced capture the flag scenario with the aid of all sorts of gadgets and weapons. The goal of the map is to get three different blueprints (flags) from the other teams base. Both teams share the same kinds of weapons but have different gadgets. The goblins deal with explosives while the gnomes handle weirder equipment. Weapons: Weapons are bought at a weapon vendor and are different in the aspects of range/damage/speed and special modes. Each weapon can be upgrades 2 times which improves it in all aspects except range for the wrench. Wrench (Starting weapon, melee range/fast speed/average damage) Blaster (Medium range weapon, 500 range/average speed/ high damage) Flamer (Short range weapon, 250 range/very fast speed/low damage) Sniper rifle (Very long range, 1000 range/slow speed/high damage) Frag grenades (Medium range, 600 range/average speed/medium damage/AOE) In addition all of these weapons have a special feature which is listed as a spell. Gadgets: Each player can hold up to four gadgets. Gadgets are basically your spells bought at a vendor. Gadgets have all sorts of different uses from damage dealing to short paced flight. As said earlier, gnomes and goblins have different gadgets. The following is not a complete list but only an example of the gadgets this map would have to offer. Goblins - Gnomes Bazooka - Ion Blaster Mortar - Lightning Attractor Net-O-Matic - Glue Trap Rocket Boots (flight) - Shrink Ray Goblin Land Mines - Boots of Blinking The Terrain: The map size is small, cramped with all sorts of trees, hills, cliffs and rivers. North-east are the goblins in a small island connected to the main land by 2 bridges and south-west are the gnomes on plateau surrounded by a deep ravine connected to the main land also by 2 bridges. Scattered across the map are wild animals and jungle trolls which attack the players if they aren't careful. Special: This map as mentioned earlier will be fast paced and resemble First person shooters in some areas :) We will have the "Player X got vaporized by Player Y" messages, killing sprees and whatnot. We will require aid in A LOT of areas so if you're interested, please contact me or Murloc. THINGS NEEDED - GOOD models for the gnomish and goblin commandoes. Just decent ones will not do. Please contact me/murloc for more information. Murloc will be posting concepts as well. - Models for the following weapons: (done in a quite cartoony/warcrafty style) Wrench (this could perhaps be taken from the tinker) Blaster ( A small shotgun, might be takeable from the rifleman, but I'm not so sure) Sniper Rifle (Self explanatory) Flamer ( A tank to be placed on the backs of the heroes) Bazooka (Done in a "Worms" style ) |

I really love the idea how you can create your hero by buying "Gadgets". I assume you can get more gadgets at higher levels/money? Or is there no exp involved? It sounds nice, but it could be developed some more. |

You'd get gold by killing enemies and when your team captures a flag. Upgrading your weapon costs gold, gadgets cost gold and buying a new weapon costs gold. |

There's no EXP involved? I'd like to get that cleared out. |

Oh yeh, we've yet to decide what levels give you but for now we're thinking of something like just a small HP boost. Ye'd get exp for killing and capturing flags. |

Some WiP Terrain shots. ![]() ![]() Trying lots of different types of areas, so that gameplay really changes depending on where you are. Dense Jungle, narrow clearings etc. (But these screenshots don't really show that ^^) |
