Guest | That would only work if you had a enemy you wanted to talk to. IE: Event: [Hero] aquires a target. Condision: Targeted unit is equal to [person to talk to] Events: Pause all units Change ownership of [person to talk to] to [neutral passive] and retain color. <start talking and such> |

Events: A Unit owned by Player X is issued an Order targeting a unit Conditions: Issued Order equal to smart Actions: If (Target unit of issued order) equal to NPC 1, then do Action: Transmission from NPC 1, else do nothing If (Target unit of issued order) equal to NPC2, then do Action: Transmission from NPC 2, else do nothing And so forth and so on. |

This doesn't have to involve right clicking but may be more suitable. Event: A unit enters within (A Range) of (Some Unit) Condition: Entering Unit equal to (Your Hero) Actions: Trigger - Turn off this trigger Game - Text Message: (Text) OR Cinematic - Cinematic Transmission from (Unit)... OPTIONAL PART Wait - 30 seconds (or whatever time you want) Trigger - Turn on this trigger The good thing about this is that you have to be close ("X" distance) to the unit you wish to talk to. Other wise you could end up talking to a unit from all the way across the town/map. The optional part is so that you don't trigger the same person immediatly but can if you would like a little bit later. |

Guest | Only problem with that is that ever unit about you can talk too therefore I'd be getting 20 messages at the same time because of range. |

Well, what kind of talking range do you want and how many guys are there going to be walking around? I was thinking of a range of 200 or there abouts. Perhaps less, 150. So you have to walk right up to the person. Shop keepers could have a larger range so that they can still be behind desks and such. You could also use dialogues to enable and disable talking. So if the player just wants to get though a town then he won't talk to anyone. Then if he wants to talk to people he can easily enable, and off he goes. |

Guest | I guess range wouldnt be an issue but these people can be close sometimes |

Well, it was just an idea. Personally, I'd use the range method since: A) You can right or left click on guys that are on the other side of the map. B) Not a messy while your playing. No need to click on guys all over the place. Just walk around. In addition, if you use ranges. You could implement a talking being enabled or disabled. You could use a "leader board" to display the talking status ("on" or "off"). |
