January's 3rd week

This week was kind of a slow week in release quantity but not in quality

Models
  • Special mention to olofmoleman's dinosaurs specifically this week's Allosaurus a nice variation of blizzard's trex model with a really good looking texture.
  • Mc ! has uploaded a model pack consisting of 8 car models derived from the ones released in Azeroth Grand Prix.

Textures
Would like to mention PlasticAngel's webweaver skin. This spider looks really neat. You can almost feel the poison and it takes really few kilobytes

Demo maps
  • Anitarf and Infrane have released their cinematic system that was used in their entry for the cinematic contest hosted by blizzard that was worth the 1st place.
  • Shadow1500 has released a very interesting Quest System that can really save some time and promises to be very useful.
  • Talking about Shadow1500 the other day he identified a way to recognize attack hits from other kind of damage. I made it into a system AttackDetect Engine 2

Site
This week I improved the homepage a little, the most noticeable changes are the adition of more recent resources for each section and the random resource picker. One less noticeable change is the adition of collapse buttons for the modules so you can hide the content you are not interested in. But the most important improvement is that it now uses caching, this improves the loading time of the homepage greatly.

Again, good job.

Suggestion: I think that you should put the random resources module above the other resource modules.

I like how you took my word on the addition of more latest, it looks great, goodjob!

One thing tho, when you close the latest 2 maps, the page shrinks, but meh.

Still think we need like latest 10 threads somewhere :)

Attack Engine 2 would be much greater as it is now (although it's now one of the greatest) if you could combine it with your "Special Events". That would be really great. Thx (if you do it or not, doesn't matter)

Hey cool, will this be like a weekly update? To show everyone the new things released in that week (maybe monthly)?

Doesn't seem like a particularly slow week to me. Let's not forget, this isn't wc3sear.ch, we don't get 70 maps/week. Oh right, maps, you forgot this week's maps.

I assume previous weeks had more content because people were submiting their older stuff. How much quality content can a community like this produce in a week anyway?

Don't get me wrong, I think it's nice to recap all the recent submissions occasionaly, I just think you might have to drop the weekly update and stick with monthly soon because the rate of incoming submissions may drop.

Agreed with ani, I dont think quality submissions can be up each week.

Tim.
We shall just have to see how it plays out. If this pace continues - no problem. Otherwise we can do it every other week, or resort to monthly.
