Open a w3m and it will only let me save as a w3x

Like in the title, if i open a w3m map that i have it will only let me export (save as) as an w3x. This is very annoying as i want to be able to play it in RoC. This obviously was originally a RoC map, but this is getting annoying, i dont even make any changes. I guess its something todo with filesize ( the map in question is 2.5MB compared to the average 0.25MB filesize of maps). Can anyone shed any light on the situation, its really confusing.

Thank to anyone who helps.

Okaaaay....

First, you open Scenario -> Map Description. At the bottom of the window that will open there will be an "Expansion Required?" part, which says whether the map needs FT and what elements of it make it so.

Make sure no FT elements are used.

After you do that, you can save the map as w3m.

Don't see why you want to do that though. Not all that many people out there who have RoC and don't have FT :/

this has been a known issue (to me atleast 0.o) for some time. some RoC maps get incorrectly flagged as FT. nothing you can do but go to an older backup. (as far as i know)

Uninstall TFT, UNinstall ROC

Install ROC.. update to v1.06 ROC. this will allow you to save as w3m.
(1.07 might work, but I do know from around 1.13 this limitation was introduced)

go to the install path for warcraft and remove it

now you can reinstall warcraft 3 again to another place and TFT and patch it to the latest version.Allows you to play online and edit your maps without constant install and removals
