Hello! I have recently been wanting to create a map that is Tranquil if you will.. I don't want it to be based upon bashing and zerging, but more of using your mind. I am planning on making it take place in a Jungle, Marshland, or some Ruins, maybe even in a Swamp. I am not sure how to encorporate this into a Warcraft III game, but any advice or suggestions helps! Thank you for your ideas

Tell us more. I mean the gameplay concept: what do players do? When does the game end? What kind of things do mean by "using ones mind"?

Well, I want it to be in a Forest, as I said.. And maybe deal heavily on Terrain. As well as maybe deal with Druids. I am not sure really, but I am just in the mood to create a map that is Tranquil and it's setting is in a Forest or something of the sort.

Just a terrain of a forest?
Or an actual map w/ triggers.

I was thinking of something with Game Play, but currently I am making a swampish type terrain inspired from Final Fantasy XI! I will send it to ya.

Also you made two topics :s, guess a mod needs to remove it.

There 2 different topics, one refers to terrain in the terrain forum and this is for map developement.

Aswell make it about druids, that sounds good. Dont use ne druids, unless you must and they must complete many quests and find pieces to make something? Something like that.

You're talking about a sort of puzzle game? Interesting. With good terrain and ingenious puzzles, it could be a great game. For example, a sort of exploration map, where the player needs to find his way into a tomb or a locked temple or something? With some logic puzzles and some story puzzles, where you have to read some stories/poems/whatever from some scrolls and understand what they mean (for example, you learn from one scroll that to open some gate, you must cast this and this spell in front of it, but at the same time you must remember from another scroll found somewhere else that also speaks of this gate and says it will only open at a certain time...)

I haven't seen any such maps before, this could really cool and original.

I hav an idea and ill PM you after im done posting this.

Druids of tauren and night elf race have come together in a sacred forest to work together to help solve the mystery that is plauging a single tree. If they can stop the plague at the one tree they can stop the entire forest from getting wiped out.

GAMEPLAY: Two teams, tauren and night elf. The two teams are friendly to eachother BUT they dont share vision. The goal of the game is to find the reason of the tree's plague. This could be solved by exploring different parts of the forest that has many puzzles and traps to get through, and other places where your required to use a certain item to open a certain door.

The game ends when one of the teams finds the reason, which would be radomized so that way the game is different every time.

POSSIBLE REASONS: Undead, bad water, evil sorceror, etc etc.

I think single player would work better for what he's going at.

Yeah, I think so too. People just don't seem to like to stand around thinking in multiplayer. Besides, even if the final goals are randomized, the map has less replay value, simply because eventually, even with randomization, you learn the puzzles. Just look at Jurassic Exploration in our maps database, it's singleplayer only, and that's good.

Tell me, is this project still going?
If you need any help, I'd be happy to assist.
(When I'm not working on my Campaign...)
