All you have to do is unzip it into the same folder as the Image Extractor. It's really simple. |

comdlg.ocx is in the same directory as the image extractor... its right next to it! i said 2 extract everything into the same directory but now it thinks that comdlg.ocx is missing when it is right next to it, it also says that comdlg.ocx may be outdated and that would i please use the version that comes with the extractor. how do i choose which version i use??? |

0 - What do we need? If we don't have these allready, We need this tool. We need Warcraft III. (Go buy it!) We need the Storm.dll from the Warcraft III dir (copy it to the dir that this tool is residing in) We need ijl15.dll from the Warcraft III directory. (same as above) We need Visual Basic Dll files (search the internet :P) We need 32Bit colors! (maybe 24Bit will do) Check your desktop resolution and color depth! The other usual stuff, keyboard, mouse, monitor and computer (sound is not needed yet) |

if the computer says it need all those things mentioned above then so be it... At the moment it only needs comdlg.ocx and that is where the problem is, I have it, it is in the same dir as the extractor but the extractor can't see it. |

The other usual stuff, keyboard, mouse, monitor and computer (sound is not needed yet) ================================ 1 - Viewing an image If you installed Warcraft III correctly, the images from the main warcraft archive would load up automatically. If not, you will have to open up the main archive (or any other mpq archive with images) by using the 'Open' menu, and then selecting 'Archive' (or by using the hot-key Ctl-A) Now there will be a (by default) treeview image of the contents, there you can browse through the images with ease. You might prefer a ListView of the images, this can be chosen by opening the View menu and selecting ListView (or by using the hot-key Ctl-L). Just click an image to show it in the preview box. ================================ 2 - Extracting an image Load up an image by using the method described under '1 - Viewing an image'. Open up the Save menu and select 'Image' (or use the hot-key Ctl-S). Now select the path to extract too and the format (from the drop-down combobox). This also works in a sortwise manner when selecting multiple images while viewing in ListView. Note: if you choose .jpg as extraction format, you will be prompted for the desired JPG compression quality (higher is better but requires more HD space). ================================ 3 - Converting a .tga to .blp (advanced) Load the Targa file by opening up the 'Open' menu and selecting 'Image' (hot-key Ctl-O). Now you may browse to the place where your Targa Image resides. Click on it. Now the Targa Image is loaded, open the 'Save' menu and selecting 'Image' (hot-key Ctl-S). Now select the path to save to, and select the .blp format. You will now be prompted for the desired JPG compression quality (higher is better but requires more HD space and system memory). Ok, here's an idea. Download the latest version of WINMPQ from Shadowflare's site. Also make sure you download all of the Visual Basic stuff that it says you need from the same place. Now install all of those things first, then reset your comp. Now try the Image Extractor... |

Re-nstalling the application may fix the problem. I didn't install the programme in the first place but do u dl VB40032.DLL? |

You gotta try my idea about Visual basic now. Go to Shadowflare's site. Probably a link to it in the WINMPQ download section. Install all of the Visual Basic and stuff it says you need to run WINMPQ. |

THX!!! IT WORKS!!! YAHOOOO!!! say sorry to the maker of the Extractor 4 me being rude if u see him. thx very much... well, if u ever have problems with comdlg.ocx then don't bother with the image extractor... get WinMPQ then search google 4 VB40032.DLL, unzip it into the folder where u put WinMPQ and the problem is solved! |
