No casting time dummy spell help

I have made a spellbook ability and I need to put some abilities in it that have no casting time, no delay, nothing. I've tried things like fan of knives and thunderclap but theres a delay, any suggestions?

What do you mean by delay? You can set cooldown to 0.

Casting time, and even if casting time is 0 it still takes time to cast for some reason.

If you are going to make a dummy spell the I suggest using a summon spell (like summon water elemental) and blank out what unit that is summoned. This is because that summonspells are VERY fast to cast, and does NOT have that anoying 0.3 second cooldown even if you set it to 0 (a lot of spells have this). Secondly, there are a lot of summonspells, so you don't have to worry about finding a simular spell if you need a second or third dummy spell.

to blank out what summoned unit is summoned do the following:
1. Go to raise dead abillity
2. Select the summoned unit on level 2 that is blank
3. Ctrl + C
4. Go to your ability
5. Select the summoned unit row that is to be blanked
6. Ctrl + V

A very usefull thing that vorkes with more than just blank units....

Well, i am no expert on this, but the only no-delay damaging ability i know is frost nova. Everything else needs at least an animation time.
Other than that, i guess you have to use channel and trigger it. Or use summon units, but that's IMO inferior.

Why is it inferior? It's a basic dummy ability, with no delay, cooldown (not even that anoying "blue" cooldown), and plenty of summoning spells so you don't have to use an ability that you were planing to use as a real ability (like thunderclap)

It may soud complex, but it is dead easy

Pretty much I need 10-11 of these, they cant have a target, and it needs to be no delay.

not to be rude...but did you read my post?

I don't know the exact number of summon spells, but it is above 11.
And the have no delay.


Is it not what you wanted? if not, the explane the problem a bit more

Well I tried summons, and it still gives me a casting time, I dunno if I'm doing something wrong but I've triple checked and I'm very confused.

hmmmmm....
When you say casting time....do you mean cooldown or the time it takes for the spell to be cast after you click?

I may be wrong, but thought that summons didn't have any delay at all (atleast some of them)

Delay after you click, I need dummies that will not even stop the hero from moving when you use it. I've seen this many times before i'm just confused.

ohhhh....not stop at all? that is quite diffrent, there are not som many spells that does not have an order at all. I think divine shiled dosen't.

I don't know if the channel spell has the possibility to be used without stoping the unit.

(Had just bizzard included a "Spell causes the current unit order to stop: True" box too all spells then problems like this one would not be...)

Divine shield works, but I cant see how to remove the shield that goes on the unit.
