I can't seem to find a way to do complex AND, OR, etc searches. Or force Advanced Search to do an exact search. Is there a FAQ that covers searching on these forums? Please post a link if so. I sure would like to be able to, say, specify "match all words" or enclose complete phrases in quotes and get better results. E.g. search for: "group variable" and not turn up every post with "group" AND every post with "variable". |

As far as I know, vBulletin does not support those features. By the way, I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend that the admins upgrade to vB 3.5.3. I have personally witnessed two high profile vB forums I actively visit be hacked within a week of each other, and it's because vB 3.5.1 had a security flaw in it that was recently discovered, and this flaw gives the hacker full access to the database. Don't shrug my suggestion off, because I've witnessed it with my own eyes. |

Not like you to be off-topic Ganon. I believe Vex has implemented the security update, but won't be doing the generic update as our version is heavily hacked. |

flaw with 3.5.1 was fixed manually by me just one week after the opening of this site. flaw with 3.5.2 doesn't matter cause that was by an option added by 3.5.2 |

See why we love Vex? Advanced search is not supported by vB unless we hack it further. |

Actually. You can always use google's advanced search and make it show only results from wc3campaigns.com |

OK, I just did a search for a topic like this because it is really bothering me! The search functionality is almost useless. Adding more words to your search phrase acts as an OR when it should be an AND. It makes your search broader and more meaningless rather than narrowing it down! It makes me very sad. I should try the Google option, but that won't work very well for restricting the search to a specific forum - which vBulletin handles nicely - will it? |

why +? google automatically treats a space as an "AND". Quotes make google only search for that exact phrase. eg: search: lots of cows will rethur pages with: "i have lots of cows!" "I have lots o' candy, which cows are part of making!" (of is excluded in the default search) Seaching for: "lots of cows" will return only pages like: "i have lots of cows!" (of is included, because it is in quotes) Other usefull things are the - operator, the "define:" operator, the "filetype:" operator, ext. (eg: Pokemon -pron, filetype:PDF Pokemon, define:Cows) |
