The sort of thing you are asking for isn't "too" difficult really. There's a couple ways to do this. 1. Have the unit selection at the edge of a map where there is "no" terrain. Have a unit with "Flying" movement and have the unit set to something like 500. Then have a camera placed where the unit will appear (use a test unit to figure where the unit will appear) and for the blackness have "No Sky". 2. Once again, have unit selection at the edge of a map (no sky) and import the tile "Abyss" from Terrain Selection 3 (I'm not sure on the name, look at add tileset options) and make all units that are going to be selectable have a movement type of "Amphibian" or "Flying" with no other changes. Get your region in there for the units and viola :) There may be "other" ways, but those are the only two that I know of personally. Good luck with your map. |

What i did for that in a cinematic of mine, is copy paste a rock spire doodad in the object editor. Then make its set scale 2.00, then change all the RGB values to 0 Then all you do is line them up (make sure you have no gaps in them) and you got a black screen, as for the floor, tint some elevators the same way.....or naga circles and put them on the floor. If you use the elevator, then sink it till only a bit of the top shows |

Also for that black terain you could set a environment triger to make a Massive where you wantit makes everything look black without giving the units movement type air. |

the abyss tile can only be used in the outland tile set...you cant make a custom set and import into a new one you gotta have outland all the way...or somewhat. so that holds you back a bit. EDIT: also tell me what map/RPG that screenshot is from, it looks interesting...plus you should do that whenever posting a pic from something that isnt yours. |

I hate to disagree with you King Gigli, but you do not have to start out with the Outland tileset to use the Abyss Tile. Advanced > Modify Tileset > Use Custom Tileset > Cliff Base Tiles Group 3 - Abyss tileset is available for use. :) |

well, u could "erase" the sky like this: proceed as krewl said, but add some doodads at the side and above the unit [PAGEUp] make sure to edit the pathing texture to NOTHING |

This thread is outdated and I think he got his answer. Doesn't really belong here anyway. Closed. |
