ah a terrainer is born, thats how i became one...i couldnt do anything else so i just decided to make things look pretty. anywho your off to a good start, the cliffs in the backround look too wallish, add some variation (add some one level cliffs here and there, rocks etc) and the river bank is a bit too steep and sudden, smooth things out a bit. other than that youve done a pretty good job so far! |

That be pretty good for starters You could use some tree variation, and whats with that ice in the water, looks like ice tile in there. Best to take that out it looks odd imo. KingGigli got the rest of the critique there =P |

hmm i think it is an ice tile. i didnt pay too much attention to it, it seemed to look like deeper water to me. good eye. |

Also pine trees don't grow on sand. Check the downloads sticky for some good palm trees. |

if im not mistaken i beleive that the ashenvale canopy tree is not a pine tree. the tree wall is though. no pine trees have branches that far up without branches bellow it. and if you look at the texture on the actuall green part it looks like leaves. |

Well it aint no palm tree, so it shouldnt be growing on sand. |

its the other way around. real pine trees tend to have very little foliage on the lower brances, as they often grow in dence woods, and look remarkably unlike christmas trees. i think its probably for the same reasons why most people draw trains with chimney stacks, or houses as cubes with 4 windows |

No not ice, I'm not using ice at all in that world. The editor made that color/texture when I made deeper water. |

Thats odd, cause it reeeely looks like an ice tile. Must be a cliff in the water there. The angle of the shot too made quite a good ilusion of an ice tile xD hax xD ![]() It looks way better if you lower the ground in the water for the deep water effect |

Well there is an updated version now. Same link, both pix on it. |

That is some great use of bizzard's cliffs. Most people cannot get it to come out looking that good. Great job on that, but i would reccomend starting to shy away from bliz cliffs and start using risen land. Also, i think i see a water glitch near the river rushes. Looks like you were trying to cover it up... Anyways, not bad for your first go at it. |

didnt see this post. gitlich i look outside and i see about 12 pine trees, and unless they are "not reall" your wrong on what you said about pine trees. there are two blue spruces just outside that must be three to four stories tall and the pine goes from the ground up. |
