I have a unit with shadowmeld in my map. Only one. The thing is, when that unit is in a control group with other units the shadowmeld button appears on the other units control panels. It throws thier button positions out of place. How could I get rid of this or find a way around it? What is it that makes male night elves not have shadowmeld? Edited because: Nevermind, shadowmeld shows up on males too, they just don't shadowmeld. I never realized this when playing ladder I guess. I"m still trying to find a way around it though.. |

I believe that the male night elves do not have shadowmeld because they have been asleep for thousands of years. Female night elves have been defending their unconscience males by striking from the forests for thousands of years, thus becoming more in tune with night itself. However, I don't know how to solve your other problems, sorry. |

You are saying Shadowmeld ability does not work properly on elven druid units? Anyway, you can always just put shadowmeld in some ability slot that is unused by otehr abilities. I can' believe you actually got all 7 slots taken :P |

Can you use WindWalk with crippling movement speed effect, or you absolutely need shadowmeld? |

Hmm, idk, I'll have to try that. I dont think shadowmeld is a must. I just want the wisp to be able to hide. It would, however, be nice if the unit could only hide at night but that button appearing on other units has to go. I was thinking I may have to make it a triggered ability. Like add ghost to the unit when they cast a dummy ability. I don't think I want to do that though. I don't need more triggers and I"m not sure it will have the effect I want anyway. |

For nighttime use with windwalk: Create a unit named "Night", which is an invulnerable flying locust sheep with 0.01 scaling. Set windwalk ability having this unit as tech dependency. Set a trigger, which periodically adds/removes Night unit, and make it fire up at nightfall/daybreak. |

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I wanted to avoid using triggers but maybe I'll add it. This one would be pretty simple and woudn't be bad on contributing to lag or anything. This ability isn't really worth adding triggers though. I wanted to make some triggered spells for other abilities and I already have alot of triggers. I'll probably just modify a different ability. I may just have a 24 hour Wind Walk that modifies movement speed or something. I guess it's not important that it has shadowmeld per se. I just thought there may be a way around the icon it adds to other units. Thanks for your help. I'll add some rep cause I'll probably end up using some form of wind walk. I may even use your idea. |
