I heard it possible to allow ppl to somehow import a big sound pack into there war3 folder, so that it replaces all their sounds? Like done on many games, when sound updates patches come out. How would I go around to doing this, prefably so players can load normal war3 up, or war3 with my sounds up? thank you |

What do you actually want to do...? |

Replace unit sounds with my custom sounds, but the file size would be WAY to big. I heard there is a way were you simply import the files into your war3 folder which replaces the unit sounds you want. |

As far as I can guess the only way to do this would be like what you said reedit the game files. But than you would be the onlyone that can hear the customs sounds. Because I really don't belive that anyone would want to reedit their game files just so they can hear customs sounds for one map. But if you would like to reedit the game files then the best way to do this would be to download an mpq editor from www.wc3sear.ch But as you may or may not know blizzards sounds aren't built into the map that is how blizz keeps their map sizes down. My Suggestion to you would be since you by what I can see with your other post would be to make this a mod not a map then you could do a lot more of what you want. |
