I am working on a Hero Arena-style map. I wish to include several arenas that can be played on, chosen by a vote at the begining of the game. The problem is this: When I write a trigger that adjusts the camera bounds to include only the chosen arena, the minimap does not scale to reflect the change and, in addition, its image is destorted. I know that minimap scaling can be accomplished, because I've seen it done in other maps such as EotA (you vote for which map to play, and then the camera bounds and minimap adjust accordingly). Does anyone know how to do this? Please help me! :) |

As a matter of fact I heard that it is possible but I've never seen it happen |

Author of The Water War - Submerged had problem with this. He was sure that minimap can't be changed. |

Last time I checked, it automatically changed when locking the camera to a region, but it's not a free change so you can do everything you want. |

Thanks Blade. I think I understand what you mean, I'll reply again if I still have troubles after trying it out. Also, Jacek, I have definatley seen it done before. So it is possible, somehow. |

I've never seen in done, I even tried to set it to a region and minimap didn't change. When i posted a topic asking how to change the minimap to the camera bounds I was told it is impossible. |

Hmmm. I tried locking the camera to both a unit and locking the camera orientation, but neither adjusted the minimap like Blade suggested. I know that it must be difficult to pull off, but I do know it can be done. I've seen it with my own eyes. Has anyone ever played EotA? At the beginning, players vote to play on Stormwail Peak, Gloomreap Mire, or Kedge's Landing. During the vote, all three arenas are visible on the minimap. After the vote, the minimap changes to reflect only the chosen zone. My brother suggested that it might have something to do with changing the actuall physical map bounds instead of just the camera bounds. Is that possible? |

I believe it might have been done by importing and using custom minimap pictures. Import 3 of them, one for each terrain choice, when when you choose that the picture is laid out. All of the units and buildings fit on top of the picture and you never would know the difference from an actual minimap. This is just a hunch though, i have no actual evidence that this is how it was done |

There is no way to change the minimap image in-game. |

Change, no. Zoom, yes. |

whitehorn, What do you mean by zoom? |

Probably the same thing Blade.dk means. |

Example. |

there is no way to do that. changing the camera bounds to a region or not and manualing changing them will not scale the minimap. |
