AoS Wars Map

Hey guys. I was thinking of making an Aeon of Strife kinda map (or DotA, for you ppl who haven't had the game that long) with some rather unusual elements that I think would make quite a fun and replayable map. I've got the terrain done, and I'm working on conception of heros/units and their spells, etc. right now. I'll do a little write-up of some of the game mechanics here. Tell me what you think, maybe I might go thru with it and consider actually doing it (although I'll probably need somebody to help me with the triggering - anything more than mediocre GUI and I'm stuck...).

- Map is long and thin. Fighting goes from the centre -> outwards. The map is split in the centre across the width. The base(s) are in the centre of the map facing outwards. Units are spawned at the far ends of the map and move in to fight. There are 2 "stages" that the units must get past. The first is an outlying chokehold area where some weak towers and ranged units can fire down on melee units, in the "ravines" in between them, and the second is the base itself.

- The "Bases" will spawn units, just like any other DotA or AoS, but they will spawn at the spawn points towards the base to fight (I want to auto-correct the cameras so that the people in the base on the top will have their cameras flipped around, so that everybody who's playing will be looking the same way, for fairness purposes... does anybody know how to flip the minimap for those ppl upside-down as well?). The bases will also spawn defence units, that will move from the base to the spawn points. "Killing" a spawn point will result in it being inactive for a period of time. But the real advantage lies in the Player's ability to buy units that will spawn along with the "base" units, like a Tower Defence Wars game.

- Players will choose a unique Hero at the start of the game. Most I will probably make skins for... nothing too elaborate (unless somebody else wants to go crazy, as long it looks kinda like I had wanted), with unique spells - some simply edited, and some will be triggered as well. I want to keep this kind of data to a minimum, so that I can play the game w/o too much lag! (I run an old comp). There is a small arena at the centre of the map, that players from one side can use to challenge players from the other side (there probably won't be any forced challenges... maybe at certain stages of the game... but I think just for voluntary fun... we'll see).

- Obviously, players will be able to upgrade their own units and the "base" units. I was thinking of a kind of donation system to the "base" upgrades so that everybody can pitch in... we'll see.

- Custom Items are a must, and a fancy intro screen would be pretty neat.

I think that covers most of the meat in the game. A lot of the sauce is still up in the air. Your comments please...
