I want to make a spell where a puddle of acid is placed on the ground. I am just looking for suggestions as to what I can do for the visual effect (using built-in models and textures). I would like to have some sort of goopy or liquidy texture placed on the ground preferably with some bubbling/steaming/splattering/foaming action on top. |

I doubt you'll find anything like that as far as built-in models go. |

Plus models don't wrap with the terrain very well. Are you using blight elsewhere? |

Maybe mess with Ubersplats? I think they can be animated. |

Ubersplats use a texture. While you can make animated textures, you need to edit the model... |

Water isn't a model and has animated texture. |

Can you dynamically create water effects on the ground? |

Hmm... water is possible using that raising water doodad. About placing water... hmm I'll look at it later. |

Raising water doodad?? That sounds intriguing. I am sure there is something built-in I could use, there is just a lot of stuff and I was hoping somebody would know some good ones off-hand. How are corpses done in the warcraft engine? I noticed that when you kill these little spiders they make a green splat on the ground. Something like that would be nice but I don't want to have to create a bunch of spiders and kill them. Ubersplats look usefull except there is only a handful of them and I couldn't get any to work in the short time I experimented with them. |

By raising water doodad I mean that one in Nerubian's in Undead campaign. Well... you could extract that spiders splat into new model. Whitehorn idea is nice too if you don't have blight on your map. Replace blight texture with some acid and set Puff Effect "that green fog raising" to some acid drops flying around(flipped hydralisk attack?). |
