Yea I know this probly isn't the right problem but the smartest people seem to hang out here. Ok here is what happens: I insert my wc3 tft cd as usual, my computer reads it and the little box comes up and I can press "Play warcraft 3" but as soon as I press it I get the message "No wc3 cd in cd drive please insert"
I can also not start the editor. So I thought damn my cd must be broken, so I borrowed a friends to try it, but I have the same problem. So the next step was to think that my CD reader was busted, so I tryed installing and playing a different game, and it worked fine. So now I thought there must be somthing wrong with my wc3 files, so I reinstalled, and nope still wont work. So now I am using a little trick to play wc3, but I have no idea on how to get my editor working. So please guys help me out, I got lots of work to do.

Just because you can install and play other games does not mean your cd-drive is working 100%. Different games use different methods of copy-protection, and cd-copy protection is often based on little quirks that requires the cd-drive to work correctly.

If you own the game I certainly don't think it would be unethical of you to use what is called as a no-cd workaround. I use it myself as I can't stand removing and inserting cds all the time. However, it's not good for the health of a forum to post such information in public, so that is all I'm going to say about that. Hope you can figure it out, no mapmaker should be deprived of his right to launch the editor! :)

Well... some topics ago even Vexorian stated about images. Give me a PM and I can send you images (500 kb) for daemonizing :D

I have this same issue sometimes, it only happens after I try to use TFT and doesn't affect anything until I do.

Usually a restart works for me, but if that fails I'd say use Daemon Tools. Its super fantastic

Download CloneCD (my prefered) and create an image file of warcraft. Mount it using daemontools, and you'll be able to play the game without a cd.
