Is there any way for me to say change the name and description of certain buildings and units, so that they are permanately like this, even if i open a custom map or campigne they are named accordingly to what i changed them to? for instance.. the Alter of Kings, i would change to The Hero Depot, then i load up my favorite custom/blizzard map, and build a 'Hero Depot' instead of it being called alter of kings... And this would only be visual, i don't want to change the system stats, just the visual describption and title given in the game... I asume i can change things with txt files just like D2? [editing the desc crap] |

All you have to do is play with the files in the MPQ, but this of course will not effect other players. |

If the field isnt modified by the map then i think u can do it by changing the slk files (sum1 correct me if i am wrong) |

u cant overide map setting, must modify the map itself. |

I think you could do it via editing the MPQ, as already said, so long as the field wasn't changed in custom maps. HOWEVER...going online may cause problems. Which may or may not include being banned. And patching might screw up. |

thankfully i never play online :P What exactly in the MPQ must i edit, and don't i need a datafile to view the contents of the mpq? |

You need datafiles for the patch mpq's, the normal ones have a datafile already. Just get WinMPQ or any other MPQ program and take a look around. Things are pretty clear (for the most part). |
