Guest | I was wondering if anyone has tried editing item spells to have a cooldown/mana cost. Do either of these effects work? Is there any display of a cooldown (assuming cooldown on item does work in first place)? |

this isn't really answering your question, but i think that items using "unit" abilities rather than "item" abilities cost mana (the same as the unit ability would cost, i imagine). Please correct me if I'm wrong. So, one thing you might try (this is sort of round a bout) is that if you wanted an item's unit ability to cost a different amount of mana is spell edit the spell you want to be casting so as to cost the correct amount of mana. As to cooldown times...er...well I'm not reliable at all, but items don't *have* cooldown times do they? I don't know if that means you can't give them cooldowns, or what. anyways, hope this was some help fr0ggE |

You can add mana costs and cooldowns to item abilities, but im not sure if it would work on bnet. |

Guest | How would adding a mana cost and cooldown be different than other edited spells that work on b.net? It's all in the abilitydata.slk, right? I was hoping someone knew some conclusive info, but i guess I'll try it myself and see what happens. |

Some of this stuff is hardcoded, so it can make a difference. |
