Comments: We have been the target of spammers

Oh come on, "the forum is disabled for server reparations" the site was disabled because we were again the target of some spammers. I don't think we have to hide the truth , I am sure everyone noted the spam and the posting of disgusting images.

I was not active these days I was working in a game called Xye. I took a look to the forum yesterday and I got the information from the 'secret' staff forums about these attacks.

I was completelly uninformed but it seems that some guy was using a dummy account to spam and congratulate himself for the awesome work in a mod called Great Troll Wars mod and he was banned because using 2 accounts and spamming / advertising what is against the rules.

Apparentally he and some other guys took it way too personally and started the attacks because he was banned! Have you ever seen a more immature action? I mean he was actually the owner of a forum, he didn't really need to stay in this forum why care that much about a ban? And if only it was an injustified ban I would understand.

The fact is you break the rules -> you get warned and then banned if you continue.

This is a free service for god's sake and we only want to push forward the creation of new maps/mods and development of tools with this site. We don't really need to babysit users that may start to spam thinking that the reason their forum is not too active is that they are not advertising enough in big sites like this.

And because it is a free service we can decide wheter we give you the free service or not. We have all the right to ban people that break our rules.

That is the forum has an agreement when you register. Shouldn't people read it?

If we ever ban you: Don't think you can fight us with spammers , not even spam bots and that is just going to make us enforce the punishment rather than forgiving you. And it is not like you actually need this site, there are plenty of other sites out there so if you have something against this site just go away.

But what if you actually try to be useful for the conmunity so we don't ever have to ban you?

Glad to see you back, Vex. Was getting worried yesterday because I couldn't find you :P. Great job getting things under control.

However we were having server problems this morning, which was why I oringally planned to shut off the forums for the day.

Well, I went to their site and it looks like WC3C has some assholes as well that retaliated at their forum (I think it must have come from us at least). I can hardly link you to their site since it's grotesque at the time being.

Sidenote: You're not being cool by spamming them, whoever is doing that, you're just sinking down to their pathetic level.

I agree with you,those damn people that keep spamming ruin the forums but atleast you can consider to allow guests to post but have a limited number from same ip , well that's your call ofcourse.

BTW once again , GJ banning them.

The problem with guest posts are, that the spammers were hiding behind proxies, so we can not detect ips, else it would never have come so far.

Well, I seriously doubt that it was some act, it was filled up with Tubgirl and Lemonparty. Anyways, they seemed to have cleared up their site so posting a link shouldn't hurt.

I'm on the GTW team and I've joined these forums a while ago to take a look in your art gallery n stuff. But I honestly can't see why there is this much offence in between GTW and other WCIII mods. I think there are many talented artists, skinners, modelers and spell creators on the team... is that a problem? Maybe some of you had problems with a team member (or even leader) a while back? Dunno. There is no reason to start fighting for attention for your mod, that's just childish. All we want is to make a good looking and fun mod so people can have fun playing it.
So please, whoever has been spamming these forums (even if it's a member from these forums that wants to make GTW look bad) grow up and get a fucking life.
I'm pretty sure it was someone from these forums though, who on our team would ever be so dumb to make our mod look "great" with spamming disgusting stuff over here, while it's clear that it would give us trouble and a bad reputation like this later on? I think someone is jealous (: Just my opinion though.
