Guest | Alright people, the DMMod is amazingly complete for a first release, but it could still use a few more features. Use this thread to post suggestions for Features to add to the mod. I'll get the ball rolling: DM Suggestions -Ordering a Special Effect Beacon to "Stop" causes it to play it's special effect once. -Ordering a Weather Effect Beacon to "Stop" toggles it's effect on/off. -Typing "!Lastunit" brings up the create unit dialog with the unit already specified as the last unit created by the DM. -Typing "!Thisunit" brings up the create unit dialog with the unit already specifed as the unit currently selected by the DM. If more than one unit is selected, each unit will be created the correct number of times. -Ordering a Camera Waypoint to "Stop" makes it the primary camera. General Suggestions -A leaderboard displays at the very start of the game, displaying the names of all the Players and their Hero Selection status (Ready/Not Ready). This leaderboard is visible to both the Heroes and the DM. -A modification to have more than one DM (i.e. An option in the map patcher that asks you how many DMs you'd like) -A maximized Dialog system-- Remember, the limit is 12 buttons per dialog now :p That's all for now. I listed these in another topic but I'll go ahead and put them here since that's what its for. I'd like to see commands to change unit's tints, transparency, size, color, and many other things. I'd also like it if the DM could have shared unit control from neutral passive (if that is possible) as it would make moving them around much easier, instead of having to go through all the menus to make it do a simple command. Make some common commands accessible through entered text so you don't have to go through the trouble of all that menu stuff. |

The DM can move any unit even if it is not owned by him. Just use the Order menu of the Chosen Units. You can make the DM units to be allied to the heros, too, by clicking on the Diplomacy menu of the Special Menu. Tip: When you set a conversation to a unit of the DM, players will attack that unit, and that's not fun. If you don't want the unit to be attacked by players, turn it neutral player (by clicking Change Owner on Chosen Units and then clicking on the neutral player on the middle of the map). But if you think this is hard and slow to do, then here is a very usefull quick command: type !nc followed by the text you wish the unit to say and the unit will turn automatically into neutral player. If you just want to set the conversation and not the owner, just type !c followed by the text. :mtk: mikititan |

Guest | Ok, now that mien does work I have a problem that must be fixed. When the game starts, everyone is in cinematic mode. and if the DM leaves, then the players will never know. Please change this. |

1 more thing you should add is the Special effects keep on repeating instead of just once |

Guest | How about a way to get rid of that annoying exclamation point above someones head? Everytime someone walks up to it, it says the same old thing over and over and over, etc. It's pretty annoying. |

I think you missed my point. I mentioned in my post that doing through the menus to give a basic order to a unit is very tedious. It would be very CONVENIENT to be able to share unit with this, and convenience is something everyone can use :) |

Guest | As you can see mikititan expects us to stay up all night reading the manual remembering hot keys. It is very annoying having to go through the menu so many times to do something so simple. I agree with Dinadan87 and think that a simple set of text commands would make the DM's job alot easier :bgrun:. For example: !create unit guardtower 1 DMwaypoint Which would create one guard tower at the DM Waypoint. |

make some commands like: !1.1 would be kill !4.15.1 would be create bandits etc... Its a shame that the premade unit groups are so useful but they are waaaaaaaaaay back in the dialog menu Maybe TucksMa would make a command manual? |

Text commands wouldn't be so bad. I already have to print out a whole list of items and effects so it wouldnt be trouble for me to print out a page of commands to to have it more convienent to not go through dialogs. |

It needs a help button, for each section, which does nothing other then list all the options and their numbers (for special effects). Also a simple town spawn would be nice at spawner (offset 100/0) create town hall, ect. ect. To be able to have an early small town and keep players attentions quick enough. Doodad spawning, at least doodads which can be made into units. So you can use them even if the terrain doesn't have them, instead of having to make custom terrain for them at certain locations. |

Guest | Well, i havent actually played this mod online yet but ive been fiddling with the dm mod single player and getting use to all the commands and learning the word commands. i dont know how the character creation works but from what i see in the manuals you get to pick race and class. something i would like to see are some more classes with some intersting special abilities also differences between classes of the same type in different races. also, some of the cool DnD features such as getting mounts, crafting and the building of golems. so, some of my suggestions are: -Dwarven Smith -Elven Smith -Tamer -Mages of certain elements or schools. -Other DnD classes and Sub Classes (kits) sorry if these were already said or cant be done but i tried to check out the page of said and cant do but it didnt load. |
