Anyways for you who don't know Unsung Legends is an single player Open RPG, set in the warcraft universe. 1 year after the merger of Arthas and Ner'zhul. The WoW storyline has been confusing, contradictory and just plain silly at times so we have decided to make our own storyline following wc3 storyline and common sense. Basic Storyline:
Kel'thuzad's loyalists are slowly giving way to the combined enemy forces, seeing this Arthas has dispatched a massive invasion army lead by Anu'barak to reclaim Lordaeron. At first they easily overwhelm Forsaken forces, but a joint human and forsaken attack repel a major landing at Silverpine forest. The humans have signed a grudging peace treaty with the Forsaken to concentrate efforts on the Scourge though they vow to eradicate all undead. The forest trolls have begun to rise in the midst of the chaos, and many human forces find themselves pushed back by quick hit and run forest troll attacks. Though they too hate the scourge (duh), the trolls see no problem in regaining land lost in previous wars with the alliance.
Unsung Legends Story Time Line
A.L. = After Lich King. This may be a bit vague, so more specifically it's after the merger of Arthas and the Lich King. This just sounds better than After Merger.
B.L. = Before Lich King, same applies as above.
Since I am not sure if Warcraft has the same months I will list the events in days (e.g. 1 A.L. day 150), this assumes there are 356 days in warcraft years. Some events that take place over a span of time may have days. When it says 0 B.L. or 0 A.L. it means in the same year, as the event happening.
===============================
Timeline
1 B.L. - Mages notice large migrations of murlocs from coasts along the world, this phenomnen is not yearly and has many disturbed. Some warn that it is merely the calm before the storm, like water recedes from a beach before coming crashing back as a tidal wave. Thier comments are dismissed, as there is currently a life and death battle taking place in Lordaeron.
0 B.L. days 50-75 - It is found that the demon gate opened by Kel'thuzad in Alterac foothills was messily and improperly closed, the surviving remnants of the fel orc warlocks seek to open the gate.
0 B.L. day 80 - The warlocks claim that they are near a breakthrough and call for the chieftains of the Blackrock clan to be present. Early messengers to the warlocks do not return, shortly after massive shakings of the earth are felt, and many report feeling the presence of demons.
0 B.L. day 81 - It is confirmed by a few survivors of later scouting parties that demons have emerged from the gate. At first the orcs are overjoyed, before hearing that bodies of the warlocks and scouts litter the ground nearby, the demons are obviously hostile. The fel orcs declare war on the demons.
0 B.L. days 82-125 - In the resulting battles the fel orcs are completely destroyed in battle after battle. Eventually they manage to hold thier ground but only after being pushed back quite a while. The orcs bitterly swear revenge. Some say that a powerful demon has emerged from the gate, suggested by the number of doom guards, this is has not been confirmed due to the lack of spies returning alive.
0 A.L. -15 days - The Forsaken take Stratholme from the Scourge, Kel'Thuzad falls back to Andorhal.
0 A.L. -2 days - The undead of Silvermoon recognizes Sylvana as their new queen
0 A.L. day 1 - Arthas defeats Illidian in combat for the ice crown, Ner'zhul and Arthas combine thier souls. The blood elves and naga leave Illidian for dead and retreat to the outland, but it is doubtful that they would have returned for him had they known he was alive. The whereabouts of Illidian are unknown.
0 A.L. day 10 - Princess Calia Menethil is crownded the successor of King Terenas, although she is Arthas's sister she vows to put an end to the scourge and it's vile plague.
0 A.L. day 15 - Slyvanas defeats the poorly organized scourge loyalists in several more battles. Kel'thuzad retreats to King's road. Slyvanas claims victory and promises to continue until all undead are free from the Lich King's grasp.
0 A.L. days 15 - 80 - The forsaken's strength continues, Kel'thuzad is unable to properly fight back.
0 A.L. day 45 - In response to Kel'thuzad's pleas a massive scourge army sets off for Lordaeron, lead by Anu'barak himself.
0 A.L. day 90 - The initial scourge landing on Silverpine forest is successful, forsaken victores are quickly reversed.
0 A.L. day 93 - Human delegates meet with that of the Forsaken, a grudging ceasefire is signed between the two. Both sides secretely vow to destroy the other.
0 A.L. day 100 - A massive human and forsaken assault on Silverpine forest is launched. There is heavy fighting through out the day but eventually the Scourge is pushed back to limited areas around the costal landing. All sides suffer heavy loses, but humans are especially in mourning.
0 A.L. day 103 - Massive scourge reinforcements attempt to land at secured areas, but are interecepted by a daring attack by the Gilneas navy. A little while into the battle, extreme weather conditions occur, damaging both sides and making it hard for the battle to continue. Both sides are ordered to retreat.
0 A.L. day 105 - It has been two days since either side has been in contact with thier fleet. Although it is known a retreat was ordered, no ships returned back. Generals grow worried.
0 A.L. day 107 - A handful of survivors are found clinging to drift wood. They mutter incoherently of fire and lightning pouring from the sky and enormous monsters tearing apart the ships, they are admitted into mental institutions.
0 A.L. day 103 - The forest troll warlords gather and put aside thier differences to form a united front against the alliance and scourge. They are named quite simply "the tribes". They aim to destroy both the alliance and scourge.
0 A.L. days 100-150 - Aggressive Forest Troll campaigns catch the humans off guard, the alliance falls back before the might of the tribes and they re-claim much of Zul'dare and Tarran Mill.
0 A.L. day 115 - King Genn Greymane leader of Gilneas recognizes the Tribes as a threat but says they are too barbaric to be bargained with, and must be crushed. As he says this, humans continue to fall back before troll onslaughts.
0 A.L. day 118 - Gilneas has become an important military centre due to it's location near the sea, and has nearly doubled since the wars. Such prosperity has attracted many a bandit lord, most famous of whom leads the Rock Knife Band, and although they claim that they will fight the scourge should they enter Gilneas, the Rock Knife Band is constantly raiding and looting the city.
0 A.L. day 125 - Martial law is declared in Gilneas, this does not bode well with the peasantry who have aldready seen a huge influx of solidiers enter thier city.
0 A.L. day 135 - Hoping to push thier advance, the Tribes request the ogres join them in a formal alliance -ogres had been fighting along the trolls, but in moderate numbers-
0 A.L. day 136 - The ogres council on said issue. It is expected to be approved with ease, but there is disent among the ogres. Several speak of joining with the forsaken. Many ogre elders fear the influence of the dark lady.
0 A.L. day 137-160 - Divides between ogres deepen, with more and more choosing sides. The elders are unable to control the populace and many ogres are seen fighting along the forsaken. Many fear that the ogres are simply possessed by forsaken banshees, and they are given reason to fear when sightings of undead ogres are reported. With increasing restlessness, the ogres are on the brink of civil war.
0 A.L. day 165 - Seeing the possibility for further turmoil, the tribes withdraw thier request for an alliance, but the lines of hatred run deep.
0 A.L. day 180 - A surprise landing by the scourge on Zul'dare in an effort to open up two fronts is utterly repulsed by the tribes. Stammering undead report immense elementals and fire raining from the sky. This is dismissed as folly, because thus far the alliance themselves had been unable to summon more than the most minor of elementals. Elements of such power were all but impossible it is concluded.
0 A.L. day 185 - The few murlocs remaining have become hostile and are moving increasingly inward into coast line cities such as Gilneas and Zul'dare. Taking advantage of kingdoms at war. At first the murloc are considered pests, but they eventually are recognized as a threat. Tales of murloc elemental mages, in discrete locations are laughed at.
0 A.L. day 190 - Conscription in Gilneas is introduced to help keep the bandits, murlocs and golems in check. The peasantry becomes more restless, and bandits use this to recruit.
0 A.L. days 150-220 - The onslaught of the tribes continue. While the unheard of elemental powers and immense elementals have not been sighted again, moderately powerful elementals are now constantly sighted in battles fighting along with the tribes.
0 A.L. days 150-220 - The conjurers nethergard grow worried, elementals have now become increasingly difficult to summon and when they are, they often turn on thier human masters. The source of the Tribe's powers are disturbing.
0 A.L. day 175 - The tribes win a major alliance as the Golems now fight beside them. Many ogres also battle under the flag of the tribes but they are not officially allied with the trolls.
0 A.L. day 210 - The first reports of necromancy by the forsaken come in. The humans grow increasingly worried as this is in direct violation of thier treaty.
0 A.L. day 220 - The scourge is constantly attacking in hopes of breaking through the ever thinning defenses. By now demons are seen wide-spread in counter attacks, with the forsaken. The humans by now fear the Forsaken as much as the Scourge but know that if they break away from the treaty, the scourge will over run them.
0 A.L. day 225 - The conjurers of Nethergard stumble upon a frightening discovery. In the undercity itself lies a demonic portal, one of the first of it's kind to connect Azeroth with the twisting nether. But what is most disturbing is that it leads into an entire demon city summoned By Varimarthas himself. The forsaken begin attracting massive amounts of demons to thier cause and the demon city -dubbed Varimatron- swells. It may be that the forsaken have galatic domination intentions as well.

WHAT MAKES UL BETTER THAN OTHER RPG'S?
Simple, we're pushing the limits of wc3, finding new ways of using wc3 and new systems. Anyone can make a few skins, paste a few triggers and call it an RPG, but we spent a lot of time on the systems, on the skins, on the tiles, on the models, on the terrain, on the spells on everything. We have a lot of great programmers, and when your making a game, that's what it really comes down to in the end. How good your script is. We've also put in endless hours developing a great detailed storyline (yes I sorta butchered it up there), and a lot of detail into the terrain. I'm not gonna go into a huge explanation, just look at the screenies and ask questions if u want :P
WHOS DOING WHAT?
in the past we've had problems with not being able to keep track of jobs, thus the need for this sections:
Taur - Fixing up and improving item and quest system, doing final touches to object editing, touching up hero transferring system, and starting to implement systems in other maps.
Slith - Terraining undercity
Zoxc - Advanced Camera System, extra secret system (for lack of a better word) that me and blade are too ignorant to be much of a help with.
Blade - Building Entering System, helping zoxc with camera system, doing random spells
Raging - none
THE_END - Skinning human warlock.
TDR - Doing generic icons for human, troll, scourge and forsaken.
Ramza - Terraining Forest Troll Hunting Grounds
If I forgot something, please remind me guys.
SCREENSHOTS:
Yes behold the UL screenies, now ome stuff. Thanks to born2modificate for the grass and rock tileset (I edited and recoloured other tilesets to make more custom ones). Yes that is a made from scratch item system, which can do all sorts of crazy stuff, but I'm too lazy to explain right now. Some of these may be not updated, I'll post more later and of different maps. Credits to falcoknight for UI.
Yah, I just need to get skinning and I think I'll be on this team offically, I have that Death Dealer, Death Knight on Spellbreaker skin basically, almost done and Ill post from screenies of the Human warlock as well
Time to make the wonderful buildings system tomorrow, unfortunately many of our systems are hard to show in screenshots. So me and Zoxc might not be the ones contributing with most screenshots, but you will be able to see how well things works out in the final product.
Nice screenshots Taur, I don't even think that I've seen all of them before now.
