Dont really know where to post this as its not really an idea for the site. Anyway. Is it against the rules to submit anything exported from wow? I was thinking of making like a doodad pack or something for "non modeling solo mappers" I personally hate wow, though they got some handy models :) |

You should've posted it in the Site Discussion forum, I have moved it. If you have made major edits to the wow models then they are allowed, but regular WoW exports are not. |

Post it on wc3search, they got probably 100 models from WoW now... |

Like Blade said, exporting and removing unneeded animations/geosets is not allowed. If you export and heavily modify it, then we might accept it. |

Terrainers could probably make use of doodads though.... |

Yeah that's why I was thinking of submitting some. As I said In the first post I personally hate wow and Im really tired of it/everyone loving it Though they got some really nice and useful models in there :) trees for example. |

if you want good trees you should take a look at Nasrudin's or Born2Modificate's work, they made awesome trees, no need for WoW trees. |

It's pretty simple to figure out. Clicking a few buttons to convert an m2 to mdx is not something requiring skill, nor does it make you the author. You cannot submit work you did not make, without the author's permission. Substantial changes to Blizzard works may be submitted, but we reserve the right to decide whether the 'new' model is sufficient. This 'era' of modding for Warcraft 3 has lost a good many skilled modelers, replaced by throngs of pseudo-modelers who have access to tools that simplify many aspects of editing. This contibutes to the increasing expectations and requirements of quality and efficiency here at Wc3campaigns. We don't wish to discourage anyone, rather we encourage greater aspirations and efforts of work. Speaking as one who received much idle accolade over the years, I prefer criticism. While I am here to contribute and provide, I strive to improve my skills and knowledge. Without suggestion for improvement and stimulation to advance, I'd still be gluing skeleton heads to peasant models. |
