Introduction: ----------------------------------------------- Map Name: Dawn of Darkness - The Prophecy Fulfilled Map Style: AoS Map History: We had a bit of a rocky start, and at my first beta release here at Wc3C is was, simply put, lame. This is a 100% overhaul of the map. The map features your general two warring factions(Demon VS Orc in this case), with your main objective of course to be inflict as much damage as possible. However we are going to TRY to throw some extra fun into the mix, with some gameplay modes(alters victory conditions) and some basic features that will throw the balance of power one way or the other. I am currently looking mainly for concepts, features and hero ideas for DoD, the crazier and more out there the better. Current Team: Chuckle_Brother: Co-Leader and coder Defective: Co-Leader and Concept/Terrain Immoralis: Misc. Triggering Work Goblin Pornstar: Concept Puffbunny(not on-site): Terrainer/Idea Bouncer Whitehorn: Advisor/Misc. Graphics Needed for the Team I am willing to take all comers. So long as you can show me that you are willing to do something well, have the skill to do it well and have a bit of free time in which to it, you are basically welcome to help out in whatever capacity suits you best. I can always use help coding heroes or improving on in-game systems(I won't toot my own horn, there are loads of better coders around, if you are one then gimme a shout), and terrain can always be better. Also I would love for some artistically inclined people, for skins, icons and a decent display picture(the current one is an abomination done by me with Photoshop). If you wish to be a part of the team toss me an example of something you made(make sure it is relevant to the capacity in which you wish to participate in the team). Current Progress: Currently we are waiting on terrain, since it will be the first thing anyone sees apon map init. Progress stands roughly as follows: Terrain: 35% Complete Heroes: 0% Complete(waiting on ideas and full completion of background systems) Stackable Orbs - Complete Custom Criticals - Complete Hero Selecton - 90% Complete ----------------------------------------------- So at this point I need hero ideas. Lots of them, as many as your minds can come up with. Any ideas that are put forth and used will recieve whatever type of credit you desire(aside from loading screen, no credit ever goes there, thats just lame). So I am opening up the floor to ideas, one hero I know I want to add but lack skills for is: Priestess of Elune/Priestess of the Moon - Moon styled magic. So open your minds, your reply area and post anything good that comes to mind. Final Note: I am only allowing space for 9 heroes per team, with 3 heroes of each attribute on each team. So only the best ideas will be used, and ALL spells MUST require to be triggered. Edit: Also note that basically any hero that is made for the map will likely be released unprotected in demo maps that, if good enough, will be uploaded here. Hero Power/Template:
Current Idea List: NOTE: None of these ideas are for sure yet, this is just a list of what concepts HAVE been added to the pile. -Capturable Nodes, nodes give some sort of bonus to the team currently in control of them -->bonus summons/mercs/healing wells/etc (suggestions for node types welcome) More Info:
-Hero Specific Spawns, every hero adds it's own flavour of spawn-type to the game, generally these spawns will reflect the theme of the hero who spawns them -Item Meld Professions, item melds require some sort of proficiency, you can level these at a shop or somesuch. This is mainly to add more to the item meld, you can't just farm like mad and kerbam have loads of good items. You would need to farm like mad and increase your proficiency first. -Generic Critical Strike, all heroes get maybe a 0.1% chance to gain a minor critical strike for each agility point. Items/spells/etc that give criticals would merely augment the natural critical strikes of your hero.(This is up for serious debate) More Info:

I don't mean to be personally critical here, but I want to say some general things. Not everyone has seen or heard of the old version, so some information would be helpful for such people. Your map is an AOS. I feel starting by pooling hero ideas is a bad idea. The biggest problem I had with your old map was unoriginality of gameply. It felt like every other AOS/Dota map. Sure, there are certain features that people expect in an AOS, but there was nothing particularly special about DoD that would make me want to play it above others. So, perhaps work from the ground up, literally, and brainstorm some themes, global features, and innovation. I'm happy to throw a bucket load at you if you would like that. |

Thats why I am doing, its a complete rebuild, not even the same map as before. So really ANY ideas for cool stuff would be appreciated, not just heroes. Anything goes, idea-wise, it needenty even be considered possible at first. So long as it would fit in an AoS game and not destroy the game in some horrible way. So yeah, ANY ideas for cool additions is really what I want. This includes, but is not restricted to modes, features, systems, etc. |

lol not very many, I decided on this last night, and mostly I have just started recoding systems that I know will be needed(selection, init, revive, multiboard - so it works). Thats why I need help, I'm not much in the idea department. |

Hero/Ability Ideas? I think you should give more details I mean will it be 3 hero abilities / 1 passive / 1ultimate? Will heroes be themed for around a particular collection of abilities like an element e.g. a fire hero a nature hero? A hero purely based round combat melee spells? etc. I noticed all hero abilities will be released? So I could sneak in a few abilities I need done if they fit your theme and a hero and they are good :-) |

I can take a shot at Priestess of Elune, I'm just going to asume its a "three normal and one ultimate" spell system. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hero name: Priestess of Elune Names Nadiana Silverfade, Maleen Duskvail and things of simular nature. Model: Not sure what you have in mind, any of the NE chicks could fit but I would go for Runner/ Sentinel (if shes on foot) or PotM (if you want her to be mounted). Hmmm or maybe a reskinned Sorceress Skills: Starstruck Blasts a enemy with a falling star (Starfall model maybe with a extra flash on impact) dealing damage plus blinding it, reducing chance to hit and armor. Elunes Favor Increases the attack speed and magic resistance of allied units around her. Silent Night When night falls the Priestess gains a %chance to silent enemies unts when attaicking them. Her mana regen also gains a hefty bonus. Divine Burst Knockbacks enemies infront of her her while dealing heavy damage. This should be a flashy spell. |

Hasty Introduction: I am Defective, and I worked with Chuckle_Brother on the previous map. Once again, I am providing him with ideas, but I am happy to consider all contributions, either on these forums or emailed to me at [email protected]. Right now a great many heroes are in the concept stages, but the Priestess of the Moon will be ready soon. The Priestess of the Moon right now is as follows (these values are temporary placeholders until a "points" system can be worked out.) ----------------------------- Priestess of the Moon (Support) Range: 600 Primary Attribute: Intelligence Intelligence per level: 1.3 Strength per level: 1.1 Agility per level: .8 Tooltip: Calling upon the powers of the Moon goddess, Elune, the Priestess of the Moon guides her people in times of peace and war with benevolence. Directing the devastating power of the stars and sky, Priestesses of the Moon represent the raw power of the heavens. ---------------------------- Skills: Moonfire: Calls upon a brilliant blast of lunar energies, summoning down a blinding column of light to sear enemies. Effect: Channeled for 3/4/5/6 seconds. Deals 70 damage per second. If cast at night, will restore 33% of the damage done in the Area of Effect as life to allied units nearby. ---------------------------- Starstrike: Summons a blast of the purest energies of Elune to strike a number of targets, dealing damage to several nearby enemies. Effect: Summons 3/4/5/6 projectiles from the heavens. The projectiles deal 200 damage to each target. Each target may only be struck once. If cast at night, each projectile will deal 40 damage in an Area of Effect. ---------------------------- Moonfury: (passive) The Priestess of the Moon's power extends to its greatest in the hours between dusk and dawn, focusing the powers of the Moon Goddess. Effect: Increases the mana regeneration of the Priestess of the Moon by 2/4/6/8 mana per second at night. In addition, all spells have a 3/6/9/12% chance to deal critical damage. ---------------------------- The Ultimates are still up in the air at this point, but we're looking at these 2 currently. Starfire: Focusing the devastating powers of a star, the Priestess of the Moon calls forth an incinerating burst of energy to destroy her foes. Effect: Channeled. Every 3 seconds, the Priestess will create an orb of energy around her. Each orb will deal 200 damage. After 6/9/12 seconds, the Priestess will release the energy of these orbs in an Area of Effect. Each orb adds 150 range to the effect. If cast at night, the orbs will deal an additional 75 damage each. If the Priestess is able to channel the full effect of the Orbs, she will replenish the life and mana of all Allied heroes by 4% of their total value every second for 10 seconds. Critical strike damage from Orbs is calculated individually. OR Wrath of Elune: The Priestesses of the Moon hold a great tie with other followers of their faith. Blessing her allies with the furious powers of Elune, the Priestess of the Moon can infuse her comrades in arms with great power. Effect: Grants all allied Heroes a critical strike effect for 30 seconds, increasing their chance to critically strike by 6/8/10%. If cast at night, it will also provide them with damage reduction, granting 3/5/7 armor. If the Hero lands a critical strike, they will gain a 20% damage increase on their next 4 attacks, or for 12 seconds. If they land a killing blow on a unit, they will gain a health regeneration effect equal to 3% of their total life every second for 5 seconds. If they land a killing blow on a Hero, they will provide a buff to all friendly units (not Heroes) increasing their damage by 100% for 10 seconds. Feel free to add any comments, and remember these values are only placeholders. The spells will be balanced once we get more of the map established. |

Since you are making a MTG map(last I heard anyway) you should pay attention to a hideous abomination we are making, instead of making Akroma(gay card), I am making Reya Dawnbringer(excellent card), so you could jack that if you want, I have no issues with people posting hero ideas they want made. If they are good enough though I will certainly use them in the map as well as release any code used for them. There are NO standards for hero skills. Not every hero will have a passive, and all will have 1 ult, 3 norm skills. Currenlty at 4,4,4,3(levels) |

Hey look at me I'm a concepter... PotM looks sweet to me expet for a few things. Priestess of the Moon already exist (in normal Wc3), I'm suggesting you change it into something simular like Priestess of Elune/Harbringer of Elune/Harbringer of the Moon and so on. And on another petition note, two spells contains the word Moon and if you go with Starfire, two spells will have the word Star in them. As for the ultimate, go for Wrath of Elune, two damage spells is enough. |

She looks alright to me (with the ultimate we discussed), I stand by that one of her spells (Moonfire) needs a name change and that she should be called "Priestess of Elune". As for icons...hmmm, I'm no sure about Moonfire, but Starstrike could have the Starfall icon, Moonfury could use the Moonstone icon (disabled during the day) and the ultimate can use the Elunes Grace, which I belive is one of them "hidden" icons. Edit: Just noticed, the first post has been updated with mre info about the crit system and the capturable nodes. |

Icon Lineup: Moonfire: Moonstone Starstrike: No Clue New Moon(Passive Name): Elune's Grace -->This spell grants a chance to give critical strikes and grants mana regen during the night. Favor of Elune(ULT): Starfall -->This has a new effect, it is an activateable aura-like effect that grants nearby allies increased attack speed and magic damage reduction while you have it active. |

Ok, I went by the sort of Guardian class of abilites, alot are form MTG Reya, Dawn Bringer Sigil of the New Dawn - Active/Unactivate - When a nearby friendly unit dies, if hero has 50 mana, drain it and ressurect the unit Perhaps a default starting ability Divine Protection - Buff - Increases target unit's armor by level x 2, whenever buffed unit kills a unit buff upgrades, increasing armor by a further level x 0.5 Soul Link - Buff - When buffed unit deals damage hero gains that much life, when buffed unit takes damage hero gains that much life. Perhaps level x a % Brilliant Halo - Buff - Increases target unit's damage/armor, when unit dies, buff jumps to nearest eliglble target, max jump range = 500 Force Bubble - Buff - Gives target unit a level x 25hp shield, that regenerates at level x 4hp per second This is basically meant to make unit ignore all minor damage, if buffed unit gets focused by a group buff will be destroyed fairly easily Spiritualize - Buff - Buffed unit damage - heals instead of damages, (negative damage) Absorb - Dispells all negative buffs in an area, heals each unit that had a negative buff. Maybe heals in multiples for each neg buff on a unit Chain Of Silence - Large area effect, chain lightning that damage-silences units on impact (Only prevents them from attacking). Guardian Angel - Channel, high mana cost per second - Prevents all damage dealt to target unit, so long as channel is maintained. Ultimate Reverse Damage - For the next level x 1.5 seconds, all damage taken adds to hitpoints instead (all damage = negative damage). Maybe you might like a spell? I put more than 4 so theres more options :-) |
