Nostrils is the openings of the nose (either side, it doesn't really matter).

Oh, I forgot to comment on the actual model. It looks as a goblin on ecstacy, and that first picture is just nasty. His tail really does remind me of a certain part of a male, yes, a dick.
You should focus more on detailing your models. Like his legs, where the hell did his kneecaps go?

no, forget about detail now. your main objective should be to achieve a good and clean overall volume. That's the oposite of this thingy and that green head you also did.

About the model u need to keep practicing, there r nice tuts around the web, try folowing one of them, thats what I did back then.
And for the nostrils thing u could hav used a web translator, thats what I do when I dont know a word
