You probably have heard of this mod in one way or another. The first official demo (link) has been out for about two years, and in my opinion it is still competitive with many of the most recent open RPGs. In short, its goal was to make an enjoyable gaming experience in the Kalimdor continent (pretty much like the bonus orc campaign, but much extended in terms of freedom). There was a second demo underway, unfortunately the team was disbanded one year ago, and it has been left untouched since then. Overall, the mod is 50% done, and it is really a shame to let it waste. In the screenshots you can see some doodads I did recently for Ashenvale and Darnassus. Be assured that every other main location (Ogrimmar, Theramore, Thunder Bluff) can have at least the same amount of detail - if not more. I can handle without problems all the custom graphic part, and some of the models for this mod were relased at wc3search, so you can judge yourself their quality. What this mod really need are: TERRAINERS: to terrain the missing areas and improve the existing maps, including the implement of the new doodads. TRIGGERERS: the only requirement is a good knowledge of the game cache, you shouldn't really encounter any throuble for the rest. Much of the object data is already done too. If possible, it would be a big step to implement a premade inventory system, but we'll see about that. If you feel up for the challenge, post here or feel free to pm me. |

[email protected] EDIT: In a few hours i will get WoW =D You HAVE to upload all of your models, they are great. About the project, are u' sure you/we will be able to complete the campaign??? It's a very hard work, it wont take 1 or 2 months... :s |

Definetely, this is not a one-man project. But its chance of success are strictly related to what we want to do with it. Sure, attempting a full reconstruction of Kalimdor would be a huge task even for a large and experience team, but no one said it's the only thing to do. In my opinion, the team itself should decide what his objectives are: what is workable and what is not. What I can assure you, is that I can do my part until the end, the rest will depend on the number and experience of the other team members. Personally, relasing a second playable demo (maybe with not all the class and races completed, but with the new terrain and graphic) would be rewarding enough as a start; it could also attract more members. Also, I want to say that most of the work required will not be expecially hard or something: it will require time and a bit of patience, but after all, I'm sure that many people here are perfectly capable of handle it. Well, I guess that's all; now it's up to you to decide if you are intrested or not. ![]() |

okok, i have WOW =D, i havent got any problem in working on this project, im in surely, You're right about a second version, more maps and terrain and new doddads > new heroes, new abilities, new objects. Do you have information about the places that are finnished and the places unfinnished or not made??? Im gonna search a fast wow server, so i can see the terrain around darnassus (starting with a night elf :p) Im thinking "we can make the right continent too, where are the humans and undead =p" no, wait, that's sooooooooooooooooooooooo tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ambicious... Weeee, I have a partner! Here you can get the second demo. There are a few playable maps (at a very early stage tho) for Mulgore and the Barrens. Imo, all they need are more doodads and detail, but I'm sure you can judge them better than me. :P Also I remember a few maps (first of all, Ashenvale) were not included in the second demo, I'll see if I can recover them. Anyway, let me know what do you want to terrain, so I can make the doodads you need. ![]() |

Hmm, wait, here its exactly 6:45 hrs, im finnishing the installing of World of warcraft, so in a while i will be inside the game looking the enviornment... I like terrain forest... so i think i will start with darnassus (or Telassdril?) CITY, then the forest.... Wait me until i see wow from inside the game. =D And i play this capaign once, i remember night elf wasnt finnished, like u said, (terrain and heros) but now i see a few really nice night elf building in your screens, very very very similar to wow's temples and trees, so i think you dont need to make lots of more dodds. I will be terraining the night elves territory so... we need more terrainers (for another kalimdor's places) and triggerers (of course)=D And ive 2 question,. Do you speak spanish? !¬¬ Do u have wow? |

There are still a few structures I need to do for Darnassus; some archs, the marble walls, the bridges\ramps and of course the giant statues. Then, I dunno, maybe I'll start the doodads for Orgrimmar; or Theramore. Quote:

ok, i played wow (really good game) And with mi night elf lvl 1 i explored all the island (i diead twice T_T), but finnally i reach darnassus. The bigger problem i found is the huge, enormous, big trees that has houses "inserted" in the trunks, with ramps and other stuff, but i think i can make that effect, The forest lands are pretty easy to make with the trees u made, Shadowglen city hasnt got lots of buildings, just a big tree with houses in the trunk. I will start with Shadowglen while u finnish darnassus dodds, 2 or 3 days and i finnish Shadowglen =D ------------------------------------------------------------------- I recommend to import to the campaign the Spirit Healer model, can be found at wc3sear, What d' u think? |

Look ![]() Make only the house(s), Using no pathing i can put them inside the tree(s) Im making Shadowglen (like valley of trials but from nightelves), and i realized that i NEED the dodds that are in your screens, the trees, How can u send them to me? |

About the project, i read u spend months in the models, Plz, wait until we get some triggerers, i dont want you to make dodds and dodds that are going to be trash or unused if the prioject isnt going well. Take your time, if u cant make the models or u dont have time, i will find a solution, even with the finnished dodds i think i can make a good atmosphere =D Look =D this is the ShadowGlen terrain, with fog and lighting (without dodds of course), its dark :p I received your dodds and they work, very nice, in a few days, maybe tomorrow i will post a wip screen from a random place, with all kind of trees and shrubs, fog, lighting, etc. suggestions? |
