KNIGHTS

Inspiration
KNIGHTS is based somewhat on an old amiga game. The game placed two knights in a dungeon maze of varying size, where they would face zombies, bats and each other. Objectives varied from finding a relic (book) and escaping - to sealing entry points so that the opposing knight could no longer respawn. These basic ideas were key elements in my ideas to create this map.

I actually used this concept to make a TERRIBLE flash game last December:
http://www.fulgrim.com/flash/chaoswa...osWarriorJ.swf

Abstract
Each player controls a single knight, a crusader entering a dark, mysterious dungeon, along with a few fellow warriors. Each knight becomes lost upon entering the dungeon, finding themselves alone within the imprisoning walls. Surrounded by foul monstrosities, traps and dark magics, the brave adventurers must battle their way through the stagnant maze of corridors and rooms. The knight’s righteous cause may soon descend into a desperate struggle to survive as darkness tightens its grasp. Will the seduction of evil overcome the proud knights? Can their strong will prevail?

Gameplay
KNIGHTS places several players in a maze-like dungeon, filled with rooms. Rooms contain anything from free items to hordes of monsters.

Building upon the original inspiration, player characters use an equipment system that is displayed on the model; weapon, shield, helmet and other effects. Items usually grant abilities in addition to bonus statistics.

Each Knight has a few core skills that can be developed as a player wishes, and added to with items held.

Anyway, I've hit the point where I could use some assistance. Ideally, I need someone to bounce ideas off, but I could also use a terrainer (to help expand/ develop my dungeon) and object editor and/or triggerer.

If this interests you, or you have any questions, post!

I made a pretty good skin for that model a while ago, if your interest, try asking John Drake to let you use it.

Three words.
Randomly Generated Dungeons.

Could you rig something by making the walls out of doors, and opening/closing them randomly at the start?
It's such a great map concept to use this in...
And what happened to... What'sitcalled? The sci-fi thing?

Project revived!

I've just done an analysis of the old map(s) I had created. I'm going to stick with the 'zombie bash' styled version. As it stands, it is playable, but there's not much development of character yet and a couple of immediate systems need adding.

First post being updated.

Random Maze generators included?

EDIT: Ah shit, it's not going to be randomly generated is it? It would be boring to know where every room and where every items are located..

I'm not convinced how well I can generate the scenery to reflect healthy sized areas, such as those shown in the images. I'm working on randomly generated content for now, will tke a look at the map layout later.

Beat Chaos Warrior flash game.

And is the project supposed to be more of a maze than anything? Will there be clues, locked doors that require special keys to open, special items needed to solve puzzles, and stuff like that?

And a good idea might be giving them a button to press that makes an image of their personal map appear for a few second. So they know how to get back or something.

I think part of the fun might be getting lost. :P
And I beat the game too, the skeleton fights were awesome but they never dealt damage.

Also, random terrain generation is possible, but looks ugly and really doesn't allow for much flexibility or stuff.
We just can't recreate Diablo I/II terrain generation in WC3. :P

The terrain can be constant, but you can always randomly generate chests for items or whatever.
That keeps things interesting enough.
