The Last Sar'Aryian

The Aryians have been conqured by the evil Emperor of Sythia, and their "army" of Sar'Aryians destroyed. Except for one. A young archer girl called Ariel survived, and has been on the run for months now. At the start of this game, she wakes up in the countryside to see the Sythian soldiers preparing an ambush.

Your mission? Escape!

This game takes various aspects of Archery Tactics, Snowballs and Ninja vs. Samurai, and blending them into a NES smoothie. Music from games, like Megaman X and Cave Story will be used, along with many of Black_Stan's models.

The System

Ariel is an archer, who shoots arrows. However, these arrows can go only in a straight line, and must be aimed like Carrion Swarm/Impale. They move fairly fast, and deal [5] damage on touch, [10] if they are aimed well. This is done by making a moving arrow unit with damage dealt in a circle (by trigger).

The next part is that the arrows can't go through/over obstacles, like rocks, cliffs and think plants. The final part is that if you have mana, it will enchant your arrow with fire to deal double damage.

There are savepoints in each level before the hard bits, to save you the fustration. However, you can only use each one once.

Breakdown

The campaign will have 9 Acts, labeled I - IX. Each one will be about 5 mins to complete if you know what you're doing and have its own boss at the end.
All 9 Acts, and the final Boss Marathon at the end will be avalible from entering the campaign, but they're progressive in difficulty so it's good to play from I to IX.

You don't carry anything through the Acts, you start each one on the appropriate level, e.g., Act IV starts with a Level 4 Ariel. You always start with full mana, two heal potions and a mana potion.

The Enemies
The amount of foes in Ariel's world are vast and numereous:

Ranged Enemies: They shoot projectiles which land on the point Ariel was when they first attacked. Basicly, they're either mobile or immobile catapults.

Melee Enemies: They will make their attack once they get close enough and swing their weapon - it dosn't matter if Ariel is moving.

Bosses: Ah, how we all love patterned bosses, they make the same moves, react in the same ways and are incredibly tough to beat. Each Act will have a boss, along with a finale of Four Bosses in a row at the end, with no savepoints.

Overall
There will be some fantastic bosses in the game, alot of tense moments and dying (because it's hard to win on the first go). However, the entire thing should work out really well, and be a really great experience. Another great part is that the campaign will be open-source, allowing anyone to add their own bosses and stages.

These are the stages so far. If anyone would like to help design them or input ideas, then please post here.
