A city which is to the far frozen north. It is a cold and unfriendly place where even the animals freeze to death if they do not find shelter. In this frozen place a city has ben built, but what it looks like is up to you. Good luck ladys. |

Well, since this is the WIP thread, I'll throw around some C&C. AgentSmith - Kinda embodies the look im going for, but you need to lighten up on that fog. There is not much detail to the pict also. Just reduce the fog, take the picture from a better angle (maybe from above-ground ), and add more stuff! If you dont want to add more stuff, make snow flurries on the ground.Kaldoreielf - This might be a long comment, just a heads up. First of all, the pit in the background, what is that supposed to be? I see it as a depression as of now and the Blizz cliffs are horrible for that. The trees are too remote also. They just seem to grow in a small area. If you are going to be making a forest in the backgroud, make a forest! Don't just make a artificial looking grove. Now for the buildings. They just seem...haphazardish. One is sunken into the hill almost to its roof and another is floating in the air. One way to get around this problem is to create a risen foundation for it to sit on. This foundation can be made with tables or another doodad, but tables should be fine. Hold down ctrl or shift, don't remember which, and left click to find a suitable angle. This is because the table has and off center 0 degree position. You are slowly getting better, so don't feel discouraged! Practice makes perfect. |

Killer_Mushroom - You need to add some doodads and some fog. Blitzkreige - really nice, It's just a bit plain and doesn't really look like a Winter city |

Never use the Noise tool. Ever. But since you've used it... Use the Smooth tool to smoothen that terrain. A lot. Other than that, I don't really know what I'm seeing. |

I finnaly found the time to make the participants all a review again. These notes are my thoughts on what I think you can improve, tough WIP. AgentSmith: It looks good, but taking a WIP from beneath can give us a deceiving sight, though all I can say is that it looks nice, aren't you using alot of custom doodads there? kaldoreielf: (second shot) Make sure you either place a fog in there or extend those trees until the camera is filled, now you have a little gap. Note: If you use so much deform its hard to place buildings, although this is a challenge I would just "tip" you to be carefully with it. Other than that, you might add some more variety in the size of the trees. also, to give the woods some variation, possibly remove some trees so you have a little place amongst the trees, add it up with a few doodads here and there, or perhaps a few animals. Blitzkreige: Just a random note, be careful with those lights, they can bug when you place more than one in a certain region. First shot: I have to admit that you have a very good start with those base buildings and that wall, although you might add maybe 2 or more of those tower in between the start and end of the wall. Also, you might give those fences a bit of work, make them paste into one another a bit more than they are now. somehow using the same doodad for the wall and the buildings, doesn't fit all too well. Fog is nice btw, you might try giving it a bit of a blue tint. Second shot: No real headers I can give you on how to fill it up actually, maybe you can add a nice sun at the top. Third shot: well, almost the same things I already told you ^_^, and off course, you need a bit of filling up, but I guess you knew that already. map-maker: Very blurry and bumpy it . To start off read the comment death placed above me. The rest, if there were to be a city inside that cave you have a problem. "You cannot show us since it will no longer be a snowy village (it would a be a city in a cave, and there is no snow in a cave)" Other things you might keep in mind. Try to remove that black glitch at the entrance, it looks very odd. Also at the front of that picture you placed a doodad, but I can see that you did not lower it, try using ctrl + pageDown key to remove that little buggy looking sight. |

I've always felt one click of noise and then the smooth tool can create a decent effect when doing large areas of terrain... |
