# of files limit in a map ?

I am making a map with a lot of custom sounds and included files and I have a pb, it seams that there is a limitation of the # of files that can be added to a map.

I cant get over 128 files, custom sounds included, in my map.

I made some tests with new maps and I can't add more then 64 files.

Is this a limitation or is there something to do to break this limite ?

I've never experienced this problem. I don't see why there would be a limit. But maybe there is.

Either way, take my advice, and if your map has 128 files in it, lose some. It's probably way too big. If it's over a meg to meg and a half at most then it's far too big. Most people won't sit around and wait for a download like that. Unless it's a single player map. I like multiplayer though ;)

I only know that every MPQ file (W3Ms are also MPQs) has a file limit.
At first I want to know which program you use for implementing.

I use MPQ2k.

This is maybe the problem. Try WinMPQ 1.60 (newest).

Same problem with WinMPQ 1.60. :(

Yes, there is a limit of 64 files for the map MPQ, and there's no good way to circumvent that right now.

Ok thanks for the information.

This definitively scrap my project. :nono:
