In other words, the [BEim] entry for Immolation (AEim) is based on a spell's code, not Uberalias. So if you copy Immolation and give it a different Uberalias (let's say, AEi2), that spell will use AEi2 to determine its button position, hotkey, etc; but it will use BEim for whatever is contained in BEim. No matter how hard you try, you cannot make it do anything different from what BEim contains. You can edit BEim, but that will make the original Immolation look different. Bxxx entries are used mainly to specify the "extra" graphical effects of a spell that has many graphical components. For example, Starfall has one graphic for the Priestess of the Moon, which is contained under AEsf, but the graphics for stars hitting enemies is under BEsf. It is also used to describe persistent buff graphics, like the red glow effect of Bloodlust or the white cloud of Unholy Frenzy. Since you cannot duplicate Bxxx entries, spells with Bxxx entries are forced to have consistent graphical effects; you can't make one unit cast Bloodlust with Bloodlust graphics while another unit casts Bloodlust with Roar graphics. ::SNIP:: I underlined a couple of parts for further clarification. Does this mean that I can create new spells that use Bxxx entries as long as I don't (1) add new or duplicate Bxxx entries and (2) accept that whatever graphic effect is contained in the original Bxxx entry will occur with my new spell. And that I can also edit the original Bxxx entry, but I must understand that this will also change the graphic effect of the original spell? (i.e. modifying the original Bxxx will result in a change to both the new and old spell) If this is true, then I could create a new spell (based on Bloodlust), rename it, change the icon graphic, change the spell values (mana, scale%, etc), change the button position, change the description, make it a hero ability and add levels to it. The only thing I can't change is the effects associated with the Bxxx entry. Is this correct? And will it work on b.net once I install the correct files into w3m file using WINMPQ? |

you can edit the Bxxx code, and what yo uare saying is correct, if you make a spell based off of a spell with Bxxx code(with is called buff code) then it will always have the buff art, but if you want you can chnage the buffart, but then it would replace the spell, so it is impossible to create new spells with buff art independent of the original spell |
