Guest | I have a request. Can someone send me a patched MPQ that allows access to hidden units/portraits/models/skins/whatever in the NORMAL map editor? Due to reasons undisclosed, I am unable to use any of the tools on this site. -- Whoops! I had a major grammar error in the subject line. Sorry.... |

a patched mpq? thatd be stupid, cuz then you couldnt play online right, most adv WE's are just the modified files that the WE references to, they arent actual new exes, cept for scio's |

Guest | I will reiterate my request to clarify it. *clears throat* I am looking for a way to access the hidden units/portraits/models/whatever in the normal, unpatched (hopefully) World Editor. I do not mind having to do MPQ switching (like the original Emerald Patch for SC) and I need a solution soon. |

Guest | What file would I have to edit in order to unhide a unit? I have discovered (I think) a way to patch a file in WorldEdit only. Could someone email me a copy of this file? |

well... the easiest way to patch only WE is to use MPQDraft.... |

I am looking for the *.slk file I would use to enable the hidden units! Garsh-dernit! Why is that blasted grammar error still there in the forum listing?!?! Would some moderator PLEASE fix it to what it should be? I am...powerless. emote_confused and no I'm not an Orc! |

Hmm...let's get that again.... Quote:
Anyway, no thanks to anyone else, I finally went through the MPQ file MANUALLY (with a hex editor) with only a knowledge of the MPQ format to guide me, and finally managed to extract Units\UnitMetaData.slk or something like that. With it, I made it so you manually enter the path for the model, portrait and icon sections. So no one else will have to go through the trouble, I have attached the edited file here. To use it, create a directory in your Warcraft III folder named Units, and place this file into that folder. *shudder* I hope I never have to go through THAT again...writing a de-compress shell for zlib was hard enough.... |

And why can you not use any of the files from this site? Also, neither WinMPQ or MPQDraft have anything to do with this site other than that WinMPQ is hosted without the author's permission. |

If you have a mac, use the mac version of mpq2k. Its much easier than doing it by hand :P. Linux.... just admit that linux sucks for games. |

If its a mac why is it... Quote:
I mean we all know thats pitiful, but it would make things quite easy to just say that!:D |
