Vexorian is very busy at the moment, so I will take care of the spell making sessions for now. The point of this, and all other, spell making sessions, is to give all spell makers a challenge in a specific theme. Price: The winner of each session gets 20 reputation points, and an award (awards are small icons that can be seen below your avatar in forum posts and in your profile). Rules: - You can use JASS / GUI / WEU or anything else that you want for your spell. - The spell you enter must be new and made specially for this contest. - Everybody is allowed and encouraged to enter, as long as they follow the rules. - Please post info and WIP screenshots of your spell while you are making it, to get more activity in this thread. When your spell is finished, just attach the map to this thread. When the session is finished, your spell can be moved to the resources section if it follows the submission rules. Theme: The theme for this session is to create a chain spell (a spell that works in a chain, something like chain lightning or healing wave). Both originality and quality matters, 20 similiar spells wouldn't be very cool. Deadline: The session ends 15 days from now, that means on saturday 6th of may. Good luck everybody! |

Ah, this time i'm in. I thought those sessions were dead. Who won the last session anyways? There wasn't a result as far as I know. |

Good to hear. Nobody won the last one, but it will be concluded soon. |

I guess I am in, no clue what on earth we can do for a chain spell, since there arre already hundreds of the damned things in existance. |

Does the spell have to be useable in general or can I just make it work for this map? |
| 04-21-2006, 06:41 PM | #6 |
It has to be usable and configurable I think. |

I'd might enter if I get a good idea, which hardly is gonna happen... |

Maybe I'll enter this one, I'de love to try using my newfound JASS. |

The more configurable and useable it is, the better. But it is not a requirement, but it is a good idea to add. |

Ok, I'll cook up something original, cool and completely multi-instanceable... DAMN ![]() |

I'm in! hey, what's WIP stand for? (as in "WIP screenshots") |
| 04-22-2006, 01:42 PM | #12 |
Work in progress. Just to maybe get a little more activity in this thread, eventually post ideas or descriptions of what you want to make and screenshots of the unfinished work before submitting it, if possible. |

I might be in =) Might not actually make it, but i have a pretty neat idea for a spell: A type of "chain-parasite". The parasite starts off in one unit. If it doasnt kill the unit, it jumps to another nearby unit. If there is none, the parasite dies. If the parasite "spawns", it jumps to another unit, leaving its spawn behind. (maybe with a maximum number of jumps, but that would just make players bite the bullet and maybe loose a couple units, as opposed to removing them from battle.) Might change the specifics, but thats the general idea. Pretty cool, me thinks. |

My idea is based off a chain damage spell. Each time it get to a target it deals base damage times 1 + the percentage of life the target is missing. The next target it hits will get base damage times (1 +percentage missing from first unit + percentage missing from second unit) and so on. The last unit it hits will also get stunned for some small duration. |

I just got the sexiest idea for a spell. You cast it on a unit, and it becomes cursed; it's darkened, has increased walk and attack speed, and cannot be ordered. It attacks a nearby unit at random (enemy to you) once (cannot miss) and transfers the curse. The unit that attacked returns to normal, and the newly cursed unit repeats. The curse lasts in total for some set duration. It's like a game of tag... With weapons. I'm gonna get programming right now. |
