I've been wanting to create a single player campaign about a country called Vartegous that is in danger of total destruction by a demonic being by the name of Dochuki. I want it to consist of different parts, for example the Part 1 would consist of like the prologue and 3 or 4 missions just going into the storyline. Part 2 would be almost the same number of maps/missions but it would be where most of the strife will begin in the story, and finally part 3 would consist of the final battles and eventually the end of the story. The story: As i said before it will be in a country called Vartegous. You get to see the main hero's life first before the story actually begins. He goes by the name of Reyga. He's 22 years old and his father is a general in Vartegous's army. His family is very wealthy but Reyga's mother dies from an illness when he was 4, so you get to see how his life is sorta saddish. One day He'll be outside with his tutor(homeschooled)and the skys will turn a darkish orange with some black in it, and that's when the main villian appears when he has a horde of demonic possed bandits attack and kill some of the people at his home. He escapes with his tutor because his tutor is also a swordsman. After that he learns how to fight and defend himself, and the story goes on from there. Needs: I can do terrain, and dialogue. I can't do skins but I'd like it if someone can help me with that part:) I've tried to learn triggers but I can't understand how to get the AI to do what I want, so it'd be appreciated if I could get help with it. I'd like the maps to have some custom music so if anyone knows how to add custom music I could use your help to |

Most generic. RPG summary. Ever. Quote:
A begining, middle and end eh....sounds dangerous and exciting. Quote:
"Today my mother died, i am feeling sorta...sad...ish" Quote:
Oh noes, industrial pollution!! Quote:
Are they eventually defeated by the zombie ninja pirates? Quote:
That must have cost his parents a bob or two. Quote:
Thank god for the Super Tutor. Quote:
Just steal the music (everyone does) and import it with the sound editor. I'm sure you can get most of the skins you need of the internet - theres tonnes of stuff available. Ask in the trigger forum for specific help, it will probably be for the best if you learn how to do this yourself. |

I live to serve. Seriously though, if you can do the terrain and story triggers, do them before you ask for team members! Although i've never seen it done, a project that is 'complete' is far, far, far more likly to attract tonnes of eagre team members who will be more than happy to make all the cutsom shizz you could want. Basically i am syaing that you will be far more sucessful when you actually have some tangible stuff done! |

Also another tip: Start small. Single player campaigns, especially RPGs, can be very grueling. They require a lot of triggering knowledge to pull off well, and don't expect people to do all the triggering for you. So get some stuff worked out and done first. I go by the rule of always having a decent demo map before asking for a team. I can count the number of times I have asked for a team on one finger though - and that was long ago, when I wasn't ready to lead a team. Which brings onto another point; ask yourself this - are you ready to lead a WC3 project team? |

yay,i finally got the comments i needed. I think it helped me out with what i was trying to figure out to do..But the only thing i can think bout doing small is a melee map:\And it's not that I don't understand triggers, it's that they don't work right when I try the. I'm really trying to learn computer AI but I always end up making it send all of it's units, not building anything, and just harvesting, nothing more. That's like only trigger help I'd really like to have:( |
