why not? the roof blocks the sun and creates a shadow over the objects below (table) based on its shape. Common physics.

A slightly darker shadow then? =P When you say it, I can't really remember how it look like. o_O In the end, atleast the roof should have a shadow.

Not only the roof, but much of the front of the house shown in the screenshot cosidering you're looking southward.
