.MDX to .MDL help!

Alright...I want to convert a model from WC3 so I can change it, obviously. But, I can't because when I try to start the .mdx -> .mdl converter (Yobgul's), it shows me an error that some file is missing. Are there any other programs I could use that have the same function, without the error?!

Then COPY these files from your Warcraft III folder : ijl15.dll and mss32.dll to the folder where yobgul's file converter is located

Did you do that?

Thanks for that. The program starts now, but when I try to load a .mdx, it says "Unknown File Format". What am I doing wrong?

You could try this converter: http://www.geocities.com/guessed4096....00b-win32.zip .

Thumbs up for that converter, it seems much more stable than YobGul's.

I convert models with Magos' editor

This requires the .NET Framework to run. Updated versions of
Windows will already have that installed. If you do not have
it or would like to check, go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframewo.../framework1_1/

That's a downside, though.

You are trying to load an MDX, not an MDL, right? Is the model custom or exported from in-game?

I never use Magos' for mdl/mdx conversions, it is not able to convert all models.

@ Tim.
The model I'm trying to convert is from extracted from in-game.

Also, for the other converter, I noticed that you need to get .NET Framework...ugh.

Is there something really wrong with .NET? I don't understand what's not to like.

What's wrong is that you have to have that stuff installed first, and people don't like having to install things they don't really understand.

I usually use Magos' to convert, but sometimes it fecks things up and you have to do it a different way to get things through (TVertexAnims, for example, don't get applied properly sometimes).

:) And ironically you still use it!

Sir-LoynStake: Attach the mdx to your post and I will see what I can do.

I still use it because nine times out of ten it's a convenient and reliable way to edit models. It just has, like any system, its flaws.

Damn, YobGhul(howeveryouspellit)'s converter was flawless for me when doing everything manaully. Or do you prefer to do something smoothly, then get ten thousand errors for the next 10 hours? : )
EDIT: Hi
