Good do you got a link to it?, does it comes with Windows? or which text editor can read the hex code?

.w3i is the information file that stores your map's main info, like forces, player's names, if a player is a computer-user-neutral, map's name, etc.

vim is a powerful text editor with a convert to hex and back script built in. I have a jass syntax color file for it as well.

Edit: fixed link. moved stuff around in some house cleaning and forgot to update :P

Your syntax color file gives me a 404 error.

xvi32 is a fine (I have almost no experience in using hex editors, but the few times I have been looking at it, this has been the program I've used) freeware hex editor.

UltraEdit32 is an excellent text editor that also supports hex editing. Unfortunately it is not free.
