Skinning Contest #3 - Deadline!

Lets give this another go! Perhaps easier for other aspiring artists to enter too.

You know revision is boring, so get skinning!


The theme for Skinning Contest #3 is ELEMENTALS

The choice of model is down to the artist, but must be an existing model in Warcraft 3 (ROC and/or TFT).

You are required to reskin the model into an elemental form, this is composed of elemental energy and form - such as Fire, Water, Earth. There are no restrictions on spheres of elements, but try not to steer too far from commonly recognised elementals.

The contest will conclude in 3 weeks - 27th May 2006.

Poll will be erected Sunday.

Additional rules:
You must post at least 1 WIP of your work before showing the final piece.
Winner(s) will be decided by public vote.

so... can it be an elemental (e.g. water) and we turn it into a different kind?

It could, but that's very limiting and has been overly done previously.

Golems are legal too. Call them Artifice Elementals if you will.

K, so can we say what model we are skinning for this here, or do we just submit a skin when its WIp..etc?

You don't have to state anything up front, but posting WIPs is always nice.

Elementals are mostly particle emitters. They will look bad wraped on a model. BTW is the Firelord dood an elemntal?

Ok well I've had this skin sitting round for a while, its done on the Chimera model. It was actually going to be used for the Ancients race I was skinning in Amara Crystaldark but that race including the Enslaved, another subrace, got dropped. So here is the still WIP(yes after this long) of the Typhoon Spawn.

I´m a noob at skinning, and even worse, don´t have the time right now... But I´ll try to enter anyway

Very few entries ... Anyway, here is a WIP of my skin, it´s a Naga Water Elemental, it doesn´t required much skills to make it, but i like how is looking so far

well we still have some time to the deadline dont we?

I have a funky idea, might enter if i have time ;)
