Tips and spell creation

Hi,
First i want to thanks Faranim for his amazing step by step tutorial.
With it i created new spells that work really well. But there is still a bug that i can't fix : tips are missings.
I modified Tip, Ubertip, ... and nothing appeared when i try the map except 'tip is missing' error.
I even copied and pasted the exact copy of an hero ability and the bug is still here.
Another bug that could be same (i don't know) is when i create a new spell his name in the map editor is always the same than my model ... ???

I dont understand ur last problem, but the first one, I think I can help, ahev u tried adding the files to the map???, If that dosn't work, then take care of what to do, u must then add the files to ur .mpq, by doing that, u will be unable to play on b.net

OK, sorry, my text was confused, so, i try to explain my prob and what i did:
I copy the spell-model i want at the end of the .txt files:
(race)AbilityFunc and (Race)AbilityString
I give them a unique id with numbers like: AHH1.

Then i create copy of the line of my model at the end of the AbilityData.slk. Then i edit this line with a spell editor or excell and i paste in my unique id in collumn 1 and 3.
Then i add theses 3 files in the PatchWar3.mpq in the folder Units/

And, the spell work, i can even change its variables without problem.

bugs are :
. I can find my abilities in the Map Editor, but it appear in the spell list under the name of my spell-model.
Ex: if i choose to use Chain Lightning and create a new spell with this model that i name Super Lightning then in the editor list i could find 2 'Chain Lightning' ...
. Second: if i try my spells in W3, it works perfectly, but when i put my mouse over the icon-spell when i want to add an ability point or when i want to use it, then a context window appear where it is written : 'Tool tip missing' ...

OK, thanks if you can help me.
Oh, another question, when i'll finish my map, i mpq all these files in my .w3m that should work so in battle.net, no ?

mpqing the files to ur map will work, just perhaps all spells crashes, there's some way to do it that i dont kno.

Hmm.... u say that, that's exactly what happened to me once, try post the abilitydata.slk, the (race)abilitystring.txt and (race)abilityfunc.txt and I try figure it out, but I cant promise I have it done In short time, asking y??? well, 1. Im very lazy, 2. when I try doing something else of playing, Im working on a map for a campaign. but I can at least give it a try, and remember to tell me the spells I must get working.

If you remember how to fix it, just tell me i'll do the job.
I don't understand i make it a lot of time, and i always have the same bug ...

Here is my files ... The spell is Henri-Animalism ...

Could you send me same kind of files to see if that work correctly at my home ?

Actually it is a copy of the spell Feral Spirit.
I don't mind what it do, whatever modification i make: that work correctly. It is just tips and quotes that didn't work.

If i modifie the text that doesn't work as if i let it (you could see in the file that i just create a new spell with a new id, that's all).

Another thing, i don't know which line to modify to have a different name in the editor.

I had it done around 00:30 GMT +1, I first post it now 02:08 GMT +1, cuz my father shut down the internet and first opened it now, but here it is, the spell summons a Dire wolf at first level, at second it summons two dire wolves, and third three dire wolves(note that unitdata.slk must also be added, it contains the dire wolf's new unit code and the string: Summoned)

First thanks for your time.
Unfortunately, that doesn't work on my pc.
To test it i created a new map with just a unit with Feral Spirit (the old one) and the Feral Spirit you did.
In my abilities list i have 2 Feral Spirit and no Animalism. :(
Then i launched WC3, it loaded my map, and ... go to windows ...
:(
I don't know if you mixed my tips prob ...

Is that ok on your PC ?

OK, i removed your new unit nwan and replace it with the first wolf : osw1.
Then that work correctly (i mean without crashing WC3 ! :P).
But i have the same result than before : the spell work correctly (now i have as many wolf as the spell level). But i have still the error message: 'tool tip missing'.

If that is ok with you perhaps it is a bug from my computer or my warcraft version ...

u might have forgotten to import the files to the w3m. you need to do that unless u already imported it to the patch or main mpq.

edit: you probably put the files in a folder so your editor can see it, but it has to be in the map also or you will see the tooltip missing.

OK, thanks a lot !
That work correctly now, i just don't know for local play i must put files in my map.
I thought it was only for exporting the map, and why export if that don't work !!!
But all is perfect now, it works, it workS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(sorry, just happyness ;P)

Just one last thing: it works with my files not those given to me by Nerzhul. It is his new unit that crash my WC3.

np, I couldn't sleep, so I just made the files, but sometimes my warcraft comes up with an error, it says I dont have the warcraft 3 cd in my cd-rom drive(i got dvd-drive, perhaps thats the prob) but I do have it in my cd-rom drive, so I couldn't test the files, so sry about the crashes.
