Swimming?

I've been sitting browsing through jass manual and GUI triggers with no luck.

what I'm trying to do is find a way to make swimming (like found in mmorpg such as EQ, EQ2, and WoW)

Any ideas how I can do this?

Wc3's general disregard for vertical position is going to almost insurmountable. I honestly to not see a real solution short of triggering the entire underwater enviroment and using to triggers to recreat height levels (for instance by setting an item at "height 50", possibly using its custom value and preventing its pickup unless the unit "swims down" to ~50)

Basically i am saying that this is going to arduous at best and most likely downright impossible, perhaps a compromise? Maybe swimming on one plane only?

I was kinda wanting to have swimming along with underwater breathing
and you can swim underwater and fight, explore. also find chests. etc...

Listen, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but this is Warcraft III. It is rather limited and simple, and what I've seen from your posts is that you want to recreate WoW almost entirely in Warcraft III. Not going to happen, sorry.

Well it is possible, but maybe wont look as good and smooth as in wow

It really isn't that possible. You can have entirely underwater and entirely above water, but save for having 2 seperate areas that you teleport between, you really can't do both.

What is it with people and turning WCIII into WoW or SC?

It doesnt require a whole lot of creative thinking, wich comforts them.

WoW War3 conversions and SC War3 conversion are different. War3 to WoW is a downgrade, and as such pointless. War3 to Starcraft is an upgrade for SC and as such useful. On top of that PR does not use exported models unlike many current WoW projects.

Anyway back on topic girlies.

GOD!, I never said I was making a WoW map.

However I will not release the title or type of map I'm making as if something causes me to stop working on it like work or school or something else I won't make anyone made cause of it.

Just because I haven't release any info on the map I'm making doesn't give you the right to assume I'm making a WoW map and start bashing and flaming me.

did I say I was making a wow-like map? NO!

As I've said many times:

I am not releasing any info about my map even the type of map it is(rpg, dota, arena, etc...)
I have my reasons behind this. And I will not sit and explain to you why.

so you are making a map with wow models, all kinds of systems that also exist in wow, and even wow tilesets, yet it is NOT wow related?

I never said a word about anything going into my map.
Like if it will contain custom models, icons, tilesets, etc.
