how do i force a unit in to an animation(in this case my gate) will it require something like jass.(i have no knowledge of it's use) will it require costom trigers.(i also have little knowledge of this aswell) im confused ![]() |

I don't think so. It's a trigger. Warchasers is for regular Warcraft and there are open gate triggers. Also, some of the story campaigns for Warcraft 3: The Reign of Chaos also have the open gate trigger. |

A buildable + repairable + upgradable gate system cannot be a destructable.. it needs to be a Unit.. 2 units actually they can use the same model one will have the pathing of a building, the other will have the pathing of a zone indicator. The open gate will play the death animation associated with the gate being open. Alternatively you can edit the existing models and create your own models that way you dont have to play the death animation. |

... Don't scare the guy. Trigger: Destructible - Open (Last created destructible)It would be easier to just make a dummy unit that is upgraded, and when it is update the destructible. |

However, this way of opening is not very good. Because when a unit is being ordered to move from point A to B, the gate, being closed, will be treated like it is unwalkable, and the unit will find other paths. If there isnt, the unit will keep on moving. Also, the open gate trigger only opens the gate for a certain amount of time, like 1 min or smth, so after it is closed, the unit will not walk through the gate. I can sugest a unit using the gate model with locust or smth, and make it pathable by units or smth (meaning units can walk through it) use the path blockers to block the side of the gates and play animation when unit enters rect. This is just another way to solve the problem |

thank you. sorry for the double post.i but im not sure i understand.is it ok to post again in a post if i have something else to say as long as at least one other person has posted? or is this post wrong to? here.the gate is built by the wall builder,built in the scout tower as you can see, the door can be opend on command |

well I dont think you can repair a doodad... nor can you upgrade one.. A doodad may have abilites (auras) me think. Which part of my previous post are u unsure about.. or are you after an example? OH your builder will also need a repair ability otherwise it wont be able to finish buidling the gate. Bascially when you use the open gate ability on the gate.. you will replace the the first gate with a second gate that plays the DEATH Alternte which is an open door. and has a pathing of a zone indication (ie wont block your unit) BTW the model you choose doesnt have an open door animation. |

Bump:Still cant figure this out.How do i force it in to the Alt death anim? Have you given up on me or something? i have spent all day searching this and other fourms for info,but still can't figure this out |

there should be Animation - Play unit animation Trigger.. Just type in the appropriate text string. To see the ANimation sequeues go to the Layer Units (where u place the units on the map) select the unit and you will see a box in the Left-middle which you can see the animations I seen in some map forgot which one.. But I solved it by Editing the model. You can find my gate in my Jurassic Park SIlver map. Its unprotected so you can steal it. |

@PerfectlyInsane Thanks il look in to your model,and if i use it i will credit you in the mod i will try animating the model first,and i will credit you for helping me i have decided i do not wish to use someone elses model! |
