New Game Modes

Karawasa
Juxtapose: Every 5 min the 4 naga become fish and 4 random fish become naga.

Guardian: The fish are given a unit or item that they must protect from Naga.

Zone Control: There are zones around the map. Fish get points for being in them. Win by getting enough points.


If you have another game mode to add, post about it here and I will add it to the poll. Feel free to post suggestions to modify the current choices as well.

I really dont think Juxtasapose is a good idea, because it removes the whole "teamplay" feeling. You are just randomly tossed around and have to keep switching allies and enemies.

Guardian (my vote!) sounds like a really fun idea. If i understood it correctly, it encourages teamplay (which is positive imo). I assume the fish work together as a team to protect ONE item, while the naga work together to steal the item?

I dont like Zone Control at all. Allways keep in mind that your trying to achieve something when creating a new mode; this mode would force the fish to camp special spots.

Realistic? Whats the reaslism in having large nagas chasing small quick turtles called "fish" who can build structures?

realistic as in realistic to implement, be fun, and work well

Well I might just change the current flag mode to guardian (since no one plays it atm) and implement zone control too.

I actually could use some help brainstorming guardian and zone control. Here is what I have so far:

Zone Control: There will be spots around the map that if Fish are in, get points every second. After reaching a certain number of points, they win. Naga win by killing all the Fish.

Flag: Flag randomly given to a Fish. Perhaps when that Flag Holder dies, the Fish lose (seems harsh). Perhaps, just subtracts gold from or kills everyones stuff (not their Fish obviously). When flag drops, given to another random Fish.

Of course, I can always have up to 5 game modes. So feel free to brainstorm modes.

Juxtapose would be fun, while it doesn't encourage team play, thats fine, because you wouldn't chose it if you wanted teamplay.

It'd make the whole game very fast paced, and you'd have to be real careful in how and where you built :P

Could make it even better by not giving any players shared vision with each other, so fish that become Naga don't instantly know where the other fishies bases are.

You should probably redo the tag system for that mode if you do it to, instead of imprisoning the fish, if a naga kills a fish he becomes a fish and the fish becomes a naga, the new fish is then immune to the Juxtapose effect for the next 2 'rounds' it comes into effect. Which gives the Naga a good reason to hunt down fishies.

Hey Pheonix gave me a great idea. You could have a tag mode. Where any fish killed switch places with the naga that killed them. and the winner is the fish that stays alive the longest.

Alright, I could really use help brainstorm on the specifics of Guardian mode. As for this Juxtapose mode, I dunno. It might ruin the game since if you kill a Fish then you become him and are stuck as a wisp lol. Please, brainstorm as much as possible here!

no I mean in tag mode there wouldn't be any wisps (wisp upgrades would be disabled of course) It would be like playing tag with 4 people that are it. And whichever fish survives the longest wins. (or in case of a tie you could have them both win, as I can't think of a good tie breaker atm)

if you killed a fish. you would become a fish and be randomly teleported, while the fish would become a naga in the spot he was killed.

The problem I am seeing is determining the winner. If when a Fish dies and becomes a Naga and the killing Naga becomes a Fish, how do we know which Fish lasted longest? Also, it would be unfair for the Naga who kills Fish because he has no chance of winning since he wouldn't have been a Fish as long as the original Fish.

To be honest, I think I might end up staying away from Juxtapose or Tag or modes where players swap because right now I don't know how it will affect all the triggers in the map. The multiboard, revival system, variables etc. I like these modes and I think it would be fun but I don't want something that is buggy either.

But please, brainstorm Guardian and help me hammer down the specifics. Also, if you don't like Zone Control please brainstorm another mode that doesn't involve Fish becoming Naga and vice versa.

k well for guardian we obviously need some kind of penalty for having it killed. but would it give any benefit for having it? for the penalty We could have it make every fish lose 50% gold if the guardian item is destroyed. but it should probably have a benefit to keeping it alive as well.
