Ok My favorite fish is the crab simply because he's so much fun to play.

-75% evasion in water gives you a good chance to survive if you turn a corner and find yourself face to face with a naga.

-the pinchers 3 second stun is brilliant for countering ensnare and attempting to make your escape (you'll still need some fancy footwork to counter the nagas improved speed)

-and burrow helps greatly for when you're just out of sight of a naga, in an effort to ellude them. (assuming they aren't tracking you with reveal)

Here's my comments/strategies on the other fish.

TURTLE
- His high armor makes him brilliant for building coral matrixes without any walls for protection. he can afford to build a coral on the edge (possibly suffereing a hit) and then retreat back into his buildings to heal and build on the other side.

- His slow speed means he has to constantly be within some sort of defence to survive. adjust your strategy accordingly.

- His teleport is a brilliant escape. HOWEVER. due to the ping. Its useless against any naga that has reveal and knows how to use it. Your move speed will make it impossible to escape as they reveal your teleport location and track you down. (i'd suggest removing the ping, and if its found to be too powerful because of that. increase the cooldown)

WATER ELEMENTAL
- highest speed on the water makes him excellent as use for the on the run fish. You can quickly build up many small bases and move between them.

- water blink allows a great escape when trapped in a corner and can often mean the difference between living and dying.

- the loss of your blink and reduction of speed on land limits the water elems options of significantly. You might benefit from building in spots that aren't protected by walls simply so you're not found as easily.

SNAPDRAGON
- Increased land speed is always a plus when running from the naga on land, but won't provide much help when treading water for those rescues.

- Luckily when you're deprived of speed you have the submerge ability. Just make sure you don't use it until you've lost your pursuers or a reveal could spell your death. (And please don't try to hide right next to middle, THEY CAN SEE YOU)

- The slow poison attack of the snapdragon promotes a strange strategy. It actually might be to your advantage to ATTACK the naga first to slow them down and then make a run for it. Just make sure you dont attack long enough for them to catch you.

MURLOC
- the murloc is by far the HARDEST fish to use. but if you can pull it off, he can be one of the best.

-His reflex boost is great for when a naga sneaks up on you and you need to make a quick escape. be sure not to use this ability just to get around, or you might be waiting for the cooldown when a naga comes up on you.

-another great ability for escaping the naga is the murloc curse. this slows them down AND prevents all their attacks. (unfortunately this is disabled when you're ensnared)

-now come the murlocs forms. these are probably best for your use in the later parts of the game. though some can come in handy in the early parts as well

:Defensive Mode- This mode increases the armor of yourself and all units/buildings in an area around you by 7. it also increases your life to 50. This is great for emulating the turtles strategy of building mass building complexes. taking a hit and sneaking back inside to build more on the other side. (just be sure not to get caught with a fish hook) This would also be helpful for delaying the naga as they attempt to tear down your towers.

:Repair Mode- This mode repairs nearby buildings. and also has the nifty side effect of making you immune to attacks. though now spells can kill you so be careful. This mode can be useful when a naga is coming up on you too fast and you are out of murloc curse and reflex boost. Once you go into this form find shelter as soon as possible as you will be FAR too slow to get away from the naga. once inside shelter change back to normal form quickly to avoid being killed by a spell casting. (unless you're really close to shelter, don't use this as any naga that knows the game will start casting immediately)
This form also disables your ability to build. So probably the best way to use this form is after you have a set of towers up and the naga come knocking. you can add some extra hp regen to slow them down. or use it to repair damage done when you dont have a healing aura tower.

:Offensive Mode- This adds a thorns aura to your buildings (same as the spike aura building) you can still build but your speed is decreased. (I'm not sure if this stacks with the aura tower, but even if it does I'd rather go for the defensive aura so your towers can keep hitting for longer and you have some extra durability as well

FROG
- ah the infamous frog. A hardworking nagas worst nightmare if used properly.
But if not, it can be rediculously easy to catch. The frog has the best overall speed of any other fish while visable. (though this is being nerfed, use it wisely)

- The frog has the ability to turn invisable and move (although very slowly) Simply the fact that you can move while invisable, however slowly, gives him an advantage over the burrow and submerge abilities. Use this when you expect you're going into hostile territory (BUT NOT IN THE MIDDLE, ONCE AGAIN THEY CAN SEE YOU) be sure to turn visable again and start running as soon as you see the signs of a reveal or flare.

- The frogs leap ability is probably his best feature. It allows him to hole up in a base with only one entrance and then leap his way out of the back. can be great for escaping before the naga even realize you're gone. Don't underestimate the worth of this skill.

and thats my review of each fish.

A very nice review of each Fish. You obviously have good knowledge of the game, we should play sometime.

Just wanted to clarify a few things. First, Murloc moves faster in Offensive mode then other modes. Second, all his Auras stack with the Aura ones, including the offensive one.

I must say the crab is my favourite as well. Some fish dont stand a chance when a naga attack their defense, but the crab is one of those who do.

it's gotta be the turtle. his abilities are perfectly suited to owning as a fish. cuz early game you wanna run around and build gold farms all over the map, so that you have a solid income coming in and they can't take out all your income all at once. if you ever see a naga you just do your jump and you should get away then you find a spot and build enough farms where they can't get you, and sit around until your jump is cooled down. then you can either wander more, making shit all over the map(invis towers for scouting for example), or you can start building mass towers etc. also, his jump makes him the perfect hero for saving. cuz you can go for save, and if things go awry you just jump and wait for cooldown before trying again. turtle jump makes him near impossible to kill.

Assuming the Witch isn't there, as she promptly reveals on your jump loc and the Naga hunt you down.

ya I hate the turtles ping. I feel so sorry for them when they teleport and I track em down. really think it should be removed maybe with a combo of a longer cooldown if necessary

Well, reveals now have 3 sec CD. Should help a little.

well I was trying with the 3 second cooldown. and by the time I'm wanting to use reveal again I only have one second left on the cooldown and thus can still easily track turtles. Heck i can still track murlocks in offensive mode. havent seen a water elem in a new version game yet but im sure i could track them too. (this is with level 3 reveal, I might have a slight problem tracking with level 2 and I could never track with level 1 anyway)

PS: I change my comment about the seadragon. i was trying him out and attacking while on the run is BAD idea. his aquisition range is too close. unless you have a wall between you and the naga, you're likely to die.

murloc needs a tele tho, even with like a 5 sec casting time, then he would be a true hybrid fish
