It is time for a new spell making session. The point of this, and all other, spell making sessions, is to give all spell makers a challenge in a specific theme. Prize: The winner of each session gets 20 reputation points, and an award (awards are small icons that can be seen below your avatar in forum posts and in your profile). Rules: - You can use JASS / GUI / WEU or anything else that you want for your spell. - The spell you enter must be new and made specially for this contest. - Everybody is allowed and encouraged to enter, as long as they follow the rules. - Please post info and WIP screenshots of your spell while you are making it, to get more activity in this thread. When your spell is finished, just attach the map to this thread. When the session is finished, your spell can be moved to the resources section if it follows the submission rules. Theme: This session's theme is terrain manipulating spells. That means spells that uses terrain deformations, changes terrain type or anything like that. I believe this theme allows a lot of freedom and creativity, so be creative! Deadline: The session ends 16 days from now, that means on tuesday 30th of may. Good luck everybody! |

I'm in too :) Are we able to submit more than 1 spell ? - Soultaker |

No. You can only submit one spell per session. So you'll have to pick the best. |

Okay.. What if I have an ability to raise water in front of me, and an ability to shoot it away as a wave? Would connected spells like that still work, or would have to make them together like 1 spell ? - Soultaker |

1 spell. Spell combos was spell session 1 theme. |

Okay, fair enough :) |

But, if you made a dummy unit cast the second ability, then its still counted as 1 ability. You can make units cast other abilities as dummys, but not 2 abilities per caster |

Okay, I might actually join this one. |

It's my turn to win this time, Tim. Remember, I am the next one on the staff roster. I think it's Pitzer after me, so you won't be having another turn to win for a while :(. |

Ha. You're funny I've been here longer than you :) (not that length should matter, only between us 2 it does :)) |
| 05-13-2006, 10:54 PM | #14 |
I think I might enter.. (And I been here longer than all of you) :) |

I think I might participate, but I was a bit turned off by the rather lax judging procedures last round. Things like buggyness, compatibility, and ease of installation were not taken into account, and I don't really see the point of making a spell if it doesn't matter how useable it actually is. Perhaps we should have a point-based scoring system. We could give a mark for how well we think the spell does in a variety of categories. Something like this: - 10 points for asthetics - 5 points for depth of gameplay - 5 points for configurability - 5 points for stability and compatibility - 5 points for ease of installation Then we could tally the scores and choose a winner appropriately. What do you think? |
