... I have been using long rifle upgrades, and it worked fine.. But i can't get the switching (ranged > melee > ranged > melee)to work, like i can't make some researches undone(or not?)... Is there any way arround? |

You cannot lower a research level, you couldmake several upgrades with different increases in range and then make them require a specific unit each. Then create a unit for the player and thus enabling the associated upgrade (remove the unit to disable). Four abilities with 50/100/200/400 for example could give a bonus of 750 :) Ofcourse this would only really work if each player only has one hero |

ranged/melee switching can be done by using orb abilities |

Well, orbs switch between attack1 and attack2, thats why melee heroes can attack air when they have an orb. How it exactly works I dont know, cuz ive never tried it myself. |

I think when editing an orb ability, there's a field called "Attacks Enabled". Set it to Attack 2 and stick the ability on the hero. Or stick it off. EDIT: It's not "Attacks Enabled". It's "Data - Enabled Attack Index" |

...does not work as it should If you enable Attack 2, which is ranged, you will only be able to do ranged attacks while fighting airs... |

Did you make it so that Attack 2 can target ground as well? |

Both attacks must be disabled, have one orb ability enable attack 1, and the other enable attack 2. |

Does not work.... First of all, the GUI of your Attack-Type / DMG does not even show up anymore, after you picked either item. Second, both abilities grant you ranged attack, oddly enough .... @MysticGeneral: It's targeting ground by default |

If i have a unit required for the research, i would only be able to begin the research and finish it, removing does not make the research undone... Or did i missunderstand you? |

That's the whole point of using units. Using upgrades as requirements they aren't "un-upgradable", but with units you can simply remove the unit and then it will be disabled. |

Set the units Max Range in "Attack 1 - Range" and then put the Min Range in "Aqusition Range" or whatever... Then just use triggers to increase/decrease Aquisition Range. |

Changing range back and forth can only be done in three ways:
Each solution has its own disadvantages.. Drunken haze will hide the UI display for the ranged damage. Chaos will add bonuses and buffs to the unit. triggered attack system also means you cant show damage on UI. |

Hmm, using chaos appears to be the best way, though not very nice.... I wonder how IceFrog did it in DotA with Throll Berserker........ |
