OK, that's my first attempt of doing something out of the cartoon/comic style. It's some kind of a spiked/horned beast. I wasn't very happy with the head, so I deciced to put it here and see what am I doing wrong. I understand there isn't much to comment, but better see my mistakes early.
P.S. Sorry for the crappy picture, but I did it on the shittiest piece of paper I found, with a 10 cent ball-point pen and then took the shot with my webcam.
anyway, all i can really say at this point is define your shapes better, scetch before laying down hard lines. Also, a 3/4 vieuw is usually a lot more interesting thenn a front or side vieuw when drawing such things.
Well it turned out to be a giant mutated sewer rat. It lives here.
An one minute pencil scetch of how should it look like:
I know the 3/4 view looks better, but as I said - it's my first try, so the side view should do for now. Maybe the final version will be in an isometric perspective.
Nah, I just realized that I need more practice before I can come out with someting decent. Thanks however for the compliments about the terrain. I think I'll continue doing comics until I get good enough for something serious. Here's my latest one. His name is Misha the Bear. lol
