Using Vertex Modifier

So I'm trying to remove a wepon from a unti. I've used oinkertools tutorials and well I've gotten up to the point where I've got like the "wireframe" outline of the unit and I try to delete the weapon but sometimes there isn't even one there and sometimes I deletes but only the blade or the handle. Some units I succeed, but others I can't remove wepon.

grrr

From what I know, you must not delete the weapon or any part of a mesh for it skrews the model. If you don't want something, just make it very, very, very tiny and hide it somewhere. Just don't delete it. Aniway, that's what I know and how I think it used to be done, I don't know how modern times are.

If it only deletes part of the weapon, that probably means you're only selecting part of it. And it doesn't make much sense that there wouldn't be a weapon at all. And why would not not be supposed to delete things if there is a delete command?

So, I'd say: look more carefully for the weapon if you can't find it, and select all of it when you do.

Tim.
The weapon could be on another geoset, make sure ot check all the geosets.

Yes, file -> change geoset; cycle through them until you find the weapon wireframe. And deleting only causes problems when you chop the entire geoset; removing a few vertices here and there is fine (though Magos' Model Editor may complain, and you might need to use YobGul's to convert to MDX first).

In vertex modifier you can delete anything but geosets, cause if you do the model is fucked up.

You can do it, but you need to wrangle with geosetanims afterwards, that's all. It's not advisable.

Geosetanim messing is pie these days, delete the geosets then use Magos' Editor to switch the geosetanims easily.

If you can establish just what is what in Magos', deleting geosets there is the best idea.
