Ylorc - The Cauldron

Deep within the caves that riddle the crater of Ylorc lies The Cauldron, the ancient seat of the Rivald power. Amidst this hellish inferno great forges were constructed to take advantage of the almost limitless supply of molten rock that fountains up eternally from the core of the world itself. It is here that the Seat of Power stands, blackened and charred from its ages within these cavernous halls.

Now inhabited by the savage Firbolg, The Cauldron is a place of power indeed, and Drace has taken it as his castle, woe betide any who stand in his way!

Some notes, this IS a playable map, which is why i don't have doodads running amok all over the place, since i don't want things to feel too cluttered. And yes, the lava is a custom model, yes, it does move, yes, it does look frigging awesome, no you can't have it.

Hmm I don't care for the warped blizzcliffs.

Yeah, i wouldn't have used them but the map does have to be playable, and being 256 x 256 i'd rather not use hundreds of pathing blockers which will suck up my doodad limit in no time.

You should see it with the lava moving. Pity i can't do animated gifs or record videos. It just looks hawt.

Did a movie with FRAPS, the land between the 2 areas is not complete yet, but you can see the lava moving now, looks much cooler.

Cool Lavaness!

For a playable map I think this is reasonable, it could use some more filling here and there, other than that, it looks fine to me.

wow, your lava is HOT! And those are pretty fancy particles in the air. The cliffs however look kinda funny.

Great stuff... the video somewhat reminds of a real movie... with lava... If the athmosphere was a bit darker, smokier with a bunch of orc slaves, followed by the fiery eye, I could swear it is LotR...
