I wasn't sure whether to put this in the terraining forum or triggering forum - so I chose the moderate - General Development. Move it if you want. I need to get an image in the background (see the pic). Basically, I have a blp that needs to cover the ground (level 0) but nothing else. I've tried using image triggers but they bug in two ways: 1) They overlap all terrain except cliffs 2) They occlude gratuitously So, I tried to use it as a texture over platforms and spam them but that not only causes lag but makes inconsistencies. I REALLY need help on this. Any help will be repped and thanked in my map. ~ Thx in advanced~ |

the only way i know of would be to make it a ground texture... EDIT: alternately you could use a flat plane model that is pretty large and use the image for the texture on that and just lay it flat on the ground |

I was thinking about ground textures but because I use blizzard cliffs, I would have to change the cliff texture as well which will mess up the entire scene. If worse comes to worst, I will use that thoguh. |

well using the tiles the picture would be fairly small at most so you would have to use lots of different ones for the different sections of the picture. the optimal way would be to use a flat plane model and use the picture as the texture. |

K I did that and instead of the occluding bug happening (as I expected), something different occured. I am now seeing black lines across the plane. I attached an image. The image shown is actually one of the least buggy views.... |

Upload the plane model and texture. |

is this like supposed to be like some kinda floating thing in the sky...(reminds me of Tim.'s terrain O.o *points up*) |

Either way heres both the texture and model. Edit: Scroll Down. |

you could have put it in a .zip or .rar archive ![]() |

Those lines are because you are overlapping the model. |

Overlapping with what? the terrain? I used one plane scaled really high. I'm guessing that has something to do with it. Regardless, If I zoom out enough, the lines disappear. So, I might just use a custom camera or something. Edit: I remember reading something here a couple years back about how the mdl decides the occlusion radius which might have something to do with it. I've tried searching for it but its not coming up... |

Try using one small one instead, then. |
