Lineart by Tiki although I killed most of it

This is my first pic I only colored, I aimed for a more realistic look but it still looks comic styled. I think it's because of the colors and metal shading mostly (does the metal actually look like metal?).

Crits and Comments welcome.

Feels like it is missing shading.

Did you color over the lineart when you color, or do you place it behind the lineart?

As they both previously said, its a bit blurry and needs more shading. Over all nice, and nice bg.

Over the lineart... (is that the wrong way?)

as for the blurryness... I should have painted in higher resolution... bleh

your supposed to set your layers onto mutliply, so they go underneath the lineart... then u either leave the lineart or remove it.

aha, thx. Maybe I'll give another try on this. But this time in photoshop. PSP Studio sucks penis.

lies. When i base a pic on a lineart, i usually first do as discribed here for the base colors and some slight detailing, then paint in another layer OVER the whole. Gives a pretty smooth end result. yeah.

Bottom line is you should do as you please :P
