Download System

Hello everybody,

I've been having a real serious issue with the download system when I download maps from WC3Campaigns, the issue is that somehow always the filesize is unknown (even with download managers) , I can't for some reason ever pause the downloads when I use any of the download managers I have (sorry crap connection but downloading 45mb Hero RPG needs pausing) and finally the download speed is always at half.

I hope you really fix this Please.

EDIT: I've just found out that this issue doesn't happen if you are downloading an attachment, it only happens when you have a valid link like Hero RPG and other huge maps approved in the map database.

This will be fixed as soon as an admin gets online or home.

I thought files.php? wouldn't even work with download managers, I thought download managers didn't use cookies.

Edit: tested with wget and it didn't work , well it worked but all what I downloaded was the you are not allowed to see this page. I think we should do something with IPs instead of checking user ids else it won't work with download managers. It should work with opera cause it would use the same cookies.

Works for me (just downloaded Hero RPG which was kinda nice).

I use DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) which you can get a free version at download.com (new version 8 is there but I use 7 so I'm not sure if the new version has free version) , also downloads from The Hive use files.php and when I download with file managers I can download but the file name is files.php with the original size of the file (although they had the same problem wc3campaigns had earlier today before tim fixed it)

Yeah, great job Tim. uploading the file to FTP. I guess DAP use IE's cookies since IE is pretty open with libraries.
